I find it pathetic when parents use the children to "get back" at each other. It's destructive to the children. Sounds to me like this situation involves one bitter parent who refuses to budge out of spite and is not thinking of the best interest of the kids. I think parents who are split up should both bend over backwards to encourage good relationships with the other parent. They need to be flexible and kind to one another. How very sad. I feel sorry for those kids.

I'm definitely not trying to dance around anything. Up until a few posts ago I didn't want to share any additional info on the situation because I wanted to remain unbiased.

The father is my uncle - although our ages are close and we have a close relationship so he feels more like a brother... lives 4 houses down... our kids are close to the same age.

Unfortunately IMO you are not able to remain unbiased as this is your family.... your comments have been swayed towards the father - which is natural.
