Do you have any tofu or soy recipes? I have never cooked with either one of them but I know they are good for us. Please share.....

brown some ground beef...cut up a package of tofu (regular) into cubes...put it in w/the ground beef, and add the flavor package. you can purchase that at the asian stores, or some markets have asian sections...and you're set! just serve over rice!!

our boys (3 & 6) love it!! and it's really easy!! :flower:

Mac and Cheese:

2-1/2 cups plain soymilk
2-1/2 Tbs. white rice flour
1-1/2 Tbs. large flake nutritional yeast
1-1/2 teas. low sodium soy sauce
1 Tbs. granulated garlic
1 Tbs. granulated onion
2 Tbs. nonhydrogenated vegan margarine, melted
1 teas. yellow mustard
1-8 oz. package rotelli pasta

Whisk together soymilk, rice flour, yeast, soy sauce, granulated garlic, and granulated onion in saucepan. Simmer 4 minutes, or until thickened, whisking constantly. Whisk in margarine and mustard. Simmer 10 minutes more. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, toss with sauce. Serves 4.

Taste of Home Tomato Bisque:

1 medium onion, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cans (15 ounces each) crushed tomatoes
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon minced fresh rosemary or 1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
8 ounces soft tofu, drained and crumbled (1 cup)
1-1/2 cups soy milk
3/4 cup salad croutons

* In a large saucepan, saute onion in oil for 4-6 minutes or until tender. Stir in the tomatoes, honey, rosemary, salt and pepper; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
* Remove from the heat; stir in tofu and soy milk. Cool slightly. In a blender or food processor, process soup in batches until smooth. Return to the pan and heat through. Garnish with croutons. Yield: 6 servings.

Miso Tofu-

1 block tofu-medium/firm or firm tofu
1/2 cup miso
1 stalk green onion
roasted sesame seeds
1/2 knob fresh ginger, grated
1/2 tsp. mirin
water
1/4 c. sugar

In a pot, add in the miso, mirin, sugar, water, and grated fresh ginger. Mix all of the ingredients together on a low heat for about 5 minutes, constantly stirring. The miso should not bubble up. Towards the end add in the green onion. Leave this sauce on the side to slightly cool off.

Cut the tofu into medium sqaures, and roll them into cornstarch. In a frying pan, heat oil, and cook all sides of the tofu until brown. Drain the cooked tofu onto a plate covered with paper towel to drain the access oil, then add it into a serving bowl. Pour the sauce over the tofu, sprinkle with the sesame seeds, and enjoy!
