You work for an organization that gets a yearly review from a group of ten. Seven of the ten have no background in your field. They have no firsthand experience on what it take behind the scenes to keep everything in order and running smoothly. The three that do have some knowledge, it is dated.

The committee’s review becomes public knowledge. This review is what keeps the monetary coffers full and helps you keep the best in the field. If you object to any or all parts of the review, you are reprimanded. How do you handle this situation?

Seriously, if the review is based on opinion and not facts, it just an opinion, right? Not much you can do about that I would think.

That is my take on it from what you posted.

Find written citations to expose the outdated information and the incorrect determinations (if they are indeed incorrect).

Then send out your resume.

Or, if there is another oversight committee, report the auditing committee for poor performance.

Then send out your resume.

Or, do nothing and continue on the way things have always been.

The life of a whistle blower is often uncomfortable.
