Ok Nothing set in stone but I am going for sure I will answer what I can

  • Will you go to all shows are just some? Would like to go to all
  • Dining plans? Just counter service
  • Looking for special event food or souvenirs? Pins, any kind of special 24 hr merchandise
  • Fast pass strategy? not sure yet
  • Are you going at Rope drop/ middle of the day / or night hours? Going to wait overnight in line for gate opening
  • Favorite attractions you are planning to see? Radiator Springs, HM, POC, SM (Both of them)
  • Hotels you are staying at? Disney or off site? Hilton
  • Disney outfit/costume?!? Do you have something special you plan to wear to celebrate the event? Not sure yet

Likewise, a moving target and not sure if we'll make it.

  • Times you will be looking for spots to view the parade/fireworks/Fantasmic/World of color. Just two regular sized guys. We'll show up as close to the parade as possible and oochie in.
  • Will you go to all shows are just some? Likely to not see WoC. We'll wander around 3:00 but we couldn't get WoC reservations and likely will be spending a lot of time in the other park. The only viewing we're interested in is the 3:00 one. For Fantasmic, we'll head early to get a FP (hopefully for the 10:45 show)
  • Dining plans? Got first and second breakfasts at Carnation Cafe. Unlike the hobbits in Fellowship of the Ring, our first and second breakfasts will be a good 17 hours apart. We'll play it by ear for the other meals
  • Looking for special event food or souvenirs? Not especially.
  • Fast pass strategy? That's just too much planning. :)
  • Are you going at Rope drop/ middle of the day / or night hours? We'll show up at rope drop and stay until it's done. We've a one night reservation and fly home at 10:00 the next morning
  • Favorite attractions you are planning to see? All of them, but my son wants to see Matterhorn.
  • Hotels you are staying at? Disney or off site? offsite.
  • Disney outfit/costume?!? Do you have something special you plan to wear to celebrate the event? Mostly clothes. I've found it awkward when I don't.

  • Times you will be looking for spots to view the parade/fireworks/Fantasmic/World of color.
Parade/fireworks are our purpose for going. I'm going to stake a spot out as soon as I notice a crowd forming.
  • Will you go to all shows are just some?
Just the parade and fireworks, then we'll be heading home.
  • Dining plans?
No specific plans, I will be eating dinner while waiting for the parade.
  • Looking for special event food or souvenirs?
I'd like to find something special for the 60th, but I'm not willing to wait in line for an hour for a slushy or cupcake. I really would like to get a couple Mickey popcorn buckets and I am hoping they might have them out earlier in the week. Time will tell.
  • Fast pass strategy?
We'll have been there all week, so we'll just be catching re-rides. DH can get whatever FP he wants for him and our daughter.
  • Are you going at Rope drop/ middle of the day / or night hours?
We'll arrive sometime before 8am and 9am after checking out of the hotel. Probably spend some time at DCA earlier in the day and then the afternoon and evening at Disneyland.
  • Favorite attractions you are planning to see?
Was hoping for Peter Pan, but now it will be closed. Husband and daughter will need to ride Matterhorn as she's been talking about it for months and I had to break the news to her that it won't open until our last day. I told her they were working on making the monster more scary.
  • Hotels you are staying at? Disney or off site?
We're checking out of the Desert Inn that morning. We weren't planning to go on Friday, now it's too late to get a reasonable price at a hotel for that night.
  • Disney outfit/costume?!? Do you have something special you plan to wear to celebrate the event?
We'll be wearing Disney themed T-shirts all week.[/QUOTE]

Oh fun thread! I personally can't wait!

My DBF and I will be there (26 and 27), so we are planning on trying to make it as long as possible! We both fly into San Diego late the night before so we probably won't make it to the parks much before 10am. We had the trip to San Diego planned then the announcement of the 60th events came out and we decided to do a day trip up to the Disneyland!

We'll stay in the parks as long as we can take it. My plan is to hit CA first and see what we can get in for rides.

I'm thinking we'll head over to Disneyland around 3pm in anticipation for the nightly entertainment. I'll be following along to see if closures are imminent.

My plan right now is to stake out a spot for the parade, hopefully on Main Street 2 hours a head of parade time and stay put for the fireworks. I was also toying with seeing the fireworks and then the 1am parade (I think the second one was confirmed) but trying to get a spot for the fireworks after the parade passes sounds challenging.

We have breakfast reservations at 1:30am for the 3am WOC show : )

I've been to WDW more times than I can count but Disneyland once and only for a few hours. We'll do our best to hit our must do rides and pull fps as efficiently as we can. I have no idea how long fps will last though.

Finally, I ordered some vera bradley minnie ears off of etsy to wear : )

Someone else had mentioned they would like up for the parade 2 hours before too. I sure hope people don't steak a spot earlier than that. 2 hours seems reasonable.

I imagine some people will. I'm hoping not too many. That's why my plan is to keep an eye on it and claim a spot as it begins to look like many people are.

  • Times you will be looking for spots to view the parade/fireworks/Fantasmic/World of color.
Paint the Night parade/fireworks: 2hrs prior, somewhere along the parade route and will then stay put for fireworks. I will skip F! since I just did the BB package in March. WOC: I'm shooting for the 3am show. I've never seen WOC at all, so I feel like I should give it a go! I'll check on FPs around noon then I guess I'll line up around 1:30am?
  • Will you go to all shows are just some?
Just PTN, fireworks, WOC.
  • Dining plans?
Just CS - hoping for some chicken and waffles at PI, and definitely a corn dog!
  • Looking for special event food or souvenirs?
I'm just going to check out the scene. I have a scarf addiction, so I will be on the lookout for a 60th anniversary one. If they have the Dooney's then I will take a look at those and I'm always open to seeing the special pins and t-shirts.
  • Fast pass strategy?
Get them early and get them often! I'm going solo so will do SRLs whenever possible.
  • Are you going at Rope drop/ middle of the day / or night hours?
All of the above! I will be there for rope drop, take a break from 12-3pm, then try to power through the rest of the night. I may take a break at my hotel after the fireworks and come back for WOC.
  • Favorite attractions you are planning to see?
Well, it WAS PP, but that has gone out the window! I am excited about doing the newly improved attractions and some that I have never done before: HM (Hat Box Ghost!!), Matterhorn (actually, I may skip this one since my back has been flaring up lately), Splash, and my two favs at DL: Pirates and BTMRR as many times as possible! Also, I have never seen the Springtime Roundup, so I want to go check out the bunnies :) At DCA: Grizzly Peak and the new Soarin', GRR, Screamin', TSMM, and of course my fav at DCA: RSR!! I will be there Thu afternoon too, so I'll do as much of this as I can on Thu since who knows what Fri will be like!
  • Hotels you are staying at? Disney or off site?
Off-site at the Tropicana. It's just so convenient to be right across the street!
  • Disney outfit/costume?!? Do you have something special you plan to wear to celebrate the event?
My outfit will pay homage to the Mickey and Minnie's new 60th Anniversary outfits.

I can't wait, this is going to be a crazy day!!

Our family is staying at Paradise Pier. I hope they have some kind of celebration stuff there too.
We are staying on the 21st only. After the parks on the 22nd we plan to drive home.

I feel like the DL park is going to be jammed packed from 5pm to 12am. I am planning to stay in DL park by 3pm and not leaving due to the fear of not begin able to get back in!

We having dining reservations at Blue Bayou for lunch. I wonder what the dessert menu will be for the event.

Will this be open on Friday? I didn't see it on the schedules so I wasn't sure. We were going to try to go on Sunday afternoon after we arrive, but if it's open on Friday that would be better.

  • Times you will be looking for spots to view the parade/fireworks/Fantasmic/World of color. I will start staking out a spot for the parade and fireworks around 6PM. I'm sure plenty of people will already be settled well before that. I'm also going to try to go to the 10:45 Fantasmic (I think it's still happening, right?), but I don't know. It depends on if I can get a fastpass for that one or not. For WoC, it mostly depends on if I even get over to DCA, let alone survive until 3AM. I'm not that into WoC though, so I might just skip it.
  • Will you go to all shows are just some? I want to go to all of them, but my priorities are the parade, fireworks, and Fantasmic. I don't care about the other stuff so much.
  • Dining plans? Only counter service for me. I'm going alone and by the time I tried to get reservations of any kind, they were all sold out. But, I'm looking forward to hopefully trying some of the foods I've never had before.
  • Looking for special event food or souvenirs? I'll probably get one of the special cupcakes if I can. Otherwise, I'll play it by ear.
  • Fast pass strategy? Whatever I can get...if I feel like it. I've never been big on fastpasses, but with crowds like I expect, I'll grab a pass if I walk by and the return time works with my schedule. I plan on getting one for Indy and one for Space Mountain at the very least.
  • Are you going at Rope drop/ middle of the day / or night hours? Rope drop. Will be there around 4:30 or 5AM to get in line.
  • Favorite attractions you are planning to see? All of them! But since I usually take little kids, I'm going to be shooting for the stuff my little ones can't go on like Space Mountain, Matterhorn (!!! can't wait to see the new parts), and BTMRR.
  • Hotels you are staying at? Disney or offsite? Offsite at Stovalls.
  • Disney outfit/costume?!? Do you have something special you plan to wear to celebrate the event? I've come up with a few different Disneybounds (Anna, Frozen, Snow White, Merida, Minnie), but in the end I will probably do red and light blue for the day, theming off of the 60th celebration Mickey and Minnie clothes and I will wear one of my bounding outfits on the 21st after I get checked in and head to DCA. At night I will wear pajama pants and my 24 hour Dopey shirt.
I cannot wait for this event! I can't believe it's only a couple of weeks away. Feels like I've been waiting forever. Oh, and I also can't wait to meet some of you at the DIS meetup that's being organized. :yay:

Not so worried about these because the 22nd is our last day in the parks and we have to head home, also hoping for a CM preview earlier in the week so I can see it all then :)

My family and I are super excited! I plan on taking Thursday off so I can decompress from work, get my hair done, get a diamond celebration-themed mani/pedi and then rest. Who knows, I might end up taking Wednesday off as well! As far as arrival, we haven't decided one a time yet but I'm leaning towards 7:00 a.m. or so to allow the long opening line to disperse. We're locals who live only 15 minutes away so I haven't reserved a room.

As for tasty treats, we'll get what we can, we're not hard set on getting any special diamond celebration goodies if the lines are long since we're AP holders and can wait. We do have early dinner reservations at Carthay Circle for WOC as well as 2:00 a.m. breakfast at Cafe Orleans.

Must do entertainment? Hmmm, that's a tricky one. We're assigned to the 9:00 p.m. showing of WOC but will likely end up canceling. I'm kind of rethinking the whole plan and might have us see Paint the Night at 8:45 and stay put for fireworks. Would be great if we could make it in time for WOC at 10:15 but I doubt that'll be doable because of crowds.

What to wear? My son and his girlfriend are Disneybounding as Snow White and the Prince, so I may end up doing the same as the Evil Queen. During the evening I'll change into some sort of cute, diamond-y top paired with the new sparkly Minnie ears. Can't wait!
