Hi

We are going for our planning session in 2 weeks and are having trouble deciding what to try at our tasting session :confused3.

Would you please be able to tell me what food you had at your reception. Photos would be brilliant and also what you thought of the food.

Is it right that they will make pretty much anything for you??

Also, as we come from England, we are not regular Disney goers like the majority of you on here :sad2:, and have only ever eaten on site/in the parks a few times. So all food recommendations would be great.

Thank you

Victoria and Rob

I had a customized buffet, I choose the dishes that I liked from each of the menu's Disney sent. The buffet was amazing, I can only say positive things about it! All my guests were coming up to me through the reception telling me how good it was, we were all so impressed, plus everytime we ate something they would bring more hot food out. I'm definitely glad I want for the buffer because people could try everything instead of just one thing.

-Mushroom filled pasta with vegetable-sherry broth, leeks, red peppers and gruyere (veg)

-Pan-seared crab cakes with lemon-dill creme

-Caesar salad with parmesan and croutons

-Olive oil grilled vegetables

-Parmesan-crusted chicken breast with basil mashed potatoes and mushroom cream

-Creamy parmesan and goats cheese risotto topped with gremolata

-Mahi Mahi steamed in banana leaves with mango salsa

-New York strip steak with Merlot and black pepper reduction, balsamic crimini mushrooms and roasted shallots.

-Fingerling potatoes

-Sourdough rolls and rustic breads

The crab cakes were especially delicious! Our menu was $90pp.

And here's our meal...

It was really perfect. Perfect size, amount, etc.

Cheese Display for pre-reception (these cheeses were amazing. I even asked my WP for a list of them afterwards, and she forwarded it. They are very high quality)

Endive and Romaine salad with blue cheese crumbles, toasted walnuts and champagne vinaigrette. VERY good salad.

Duo plate of filet with Blackberry Demi, Mahi Mahi with Limoncello Beurre Blanc, mashed sweet potatoes, asparagus and squash...it was a PERFECT meal.

Hi Caroline Ive just spent the last few hours reading your planning journal. I don't know how i'd never seen it before!!
I LOVE your photos at the end. Would love to see the rest of them. Have you done a trip report??

Thank you Heidi. Those threads are a massive help. Your cheese display looked lovely. I never really thought of having cheese. We were going to go with the fruit, but I think i'l show Rob your photo when he gets home, because it looks yummy. Also does the dessert come with the childrens menu or do you have to order it seperately?? My little boy would LOVE it!!
