We're woefully short on points & have been waiting for next best thing to do an add-on to complete our DVC portfolio:rolleyes1 .

Like having the 11 month window @ different resorts that we can utilize with banking/borrowing.

Already have WL & BW. BCV is out of the question after recent experience.

Was hoping for CR but, since AK was announced can I assume any potential CR would go to the DVC back burner @ best until AK is complete? Have there ever been 2 resorts being sold @ the same time?

Can't decide whether we should add on @ AKL or continue to hold out.

Not familiar with selling off parts of contract, assume we could readily divest ourselves of the add-on if it's not a good fit for us?

Other than factoring in member dues & closing costs, what's the downside?

Each add on, while under the same member number, is legally a separate contract and can be re-sold on its own.

There is usually a few months overlap for selling more than one resort, as one is opened prior to another being fully sold, but there has not been a time where two on-site resorts came online at the same time.

thanks,

forgot to ask, other than the normal 25 cash/50 finance requirement, do new resorts have minimum buy-ins?

No, the 25/50 has always applied. There may be a minimum buy for specific promotions, like discounts or tickets.

But, of course, the minimum buy in could change.

uh-oh...didn't think the min. point buy in would be subject to "tinkering".

shades of point transfer enforcement crackdowns...are you indicating that DVC reserves the right to implement a min. add-on? My guide hasn't mentioned that possibility, said I'd be okay as long as the points are available to purchase in my UY.

if I had only received a rule book (and read it) I'd be in the know I suppose; have asked MS twice to send one my way so far; wonder if there's a pdf version somewhere.

Minimum "original contract" buy-ins have changed, they were originally 230 points at OKW, then 210, 170 (or 175) and now the current 150. Since they can change the original buy-in, I don't know why they couldn't change the minimum add-on if there was a need to do so, unless it would require refiling all the POS documents with each state (in which case it may be more trouble than it is worth).

something else to fret about:) ; sure would hate to have to add on 150 points - far more than we currently require.
