This was taken with my little HP 2.0 digital, so I'd love to see what your cameras do, so I know what to look forward to for my next purchase

This might not be exactly what you're looking for, but I was experimenting a bit at the Children's Museum a few weeks ago. This is the top of the indoor vintage carousel as it was going around.....the white blurs at the top are the fiberoptic lights dangling from the midnight blue ceiling to give the appearance of stars. I panned the camera to follow the carousel, thus making the lights look like streaks (to show what the lights look like still, I'm following this pic with a pic of them from on the carousel, while not moving):

And then at a dog competition at the State Fair (caught mid-leap):
