Anyway, yesterday i went to the movies AMC. I am a member of the AMC member card so whenever i go to the movies and use my card sometimes i get free stuff like popcorn. I also get points and every 100 points i get a free ticket. Well any-who I got a coupon for a FREE small popcorn.

In fact their popcorn is just alright and sometimes i do indulge but didn't want it so i decided to see who was behind me and asked them if they wanted the coupon for free popcorn. They were really :) about it and accepted.

I felt really good about it. Felt like a CM giving away something at Disney World when i was really at the movies. I went to see the Legands of the Owl movie but 20 min in i left because I just didn't care for it. I thought it was really boring and too serious...Gosh! It's a kid movie! So i got a free pass to use on another movie (hoping to use it on the new Katherine Hiegl Movie).

Anyway, share your stories if you have one of giving something away to another person like I did. :).

That was a very nice thing you did.. We need more nice people like that.. Doesn't it feel good to "give"? :)

I have given tickets away for various things; helped elderly people that I don't know get their groceries into their vehicles; walked around WDW approaching families that were carrying cameras and asked if they would like me to take a family photo for them using their camera; while in WDW I gave away an extra ticket for MVMCP that I didn't need; I crochet (and quilt) afghans, lapghans, and lap quilts to donate to nursing homes and such; one time I helped an elderly woman pay for her groceries - she was in line ahead of me and didn't have enough money, so she was going to put some of her meat and veggies back :( but I wouldn't let her; - and I'm sure there's more that I just can't think of right now..

I'm a fanatical "giver" and if I were ever to win the lottery, I would probably be broke in no time flat because I would be giving the money away to people in need left and right.. LOL..

Whenever possible, I like to "pay it forward".. :goodvibes

I, somehow, get extra Kohl's coupons in the mail. I have a Kohl's credit card, but I get both kinds of coupons "Save xx% when you use your Kohl's charge" and "Save xx%"

So usually, when I am in line, I give the coupon to the person behind me.

Also, the cashiers have given me back my coupon telling me that I am allowed to use it as many times as I want until it expires. So if I don;t have an extra, I'll hang around the registers a bit and let the next two or three people behind me have a swipe with the coupon.

I've also done the classic give away FastPasses at WDW. I gave away a coveted Child Swap pass and explained to a family how it worked and that it got three of them in at one time on that one pass.

Since I have worked in retail many times over, I am always extra nice to any cashier/customer service person I encounter.

Oh, and I worked as a bagger/cashier at a grocery store in high school, so I am realy particular about how I arrange items in my grocery cart and unload them on the belt. I keep cold stuff together, produce, boxed items, canned items, delecate stuff each in their own little group to help out the cashier and bagger. It's just a simple thing I do, but have had many cashiers and baggers compliment me on doing so, because as they say to me "It was easy to bag my stuff."

I've never been complimented on it, but I do the same thing too. It's a habit I picked up from my aunt because the teenagers at the grocery store would throw things into together. I remember one time, cans got tossed in on top of grapes. I told my aunt i'd go load up the car while she talked to the manager.:rolleyes1 So now I always unload how I want it bagged/loaded so the bagger has less of a chance on messing up. Plus it makes putting things away sooo much easier.

When I worked at Disney, and Kari was in Frontierland, she'd come home with stacks of re-ads and child swap passes in her pockets. I'd take a stack at a time and hand them out to families. Telling them to go "conquer the mountains" enough child swaps for splash and thunder, and re-ads for space.
I gave 4 re-ads to a father and his son (whom I think was mentally disabled, a little too old for being upset). The dad wanted to go rest at the resort, and the son didn't want to leave. It was about 1-2pm in the afternoon. I told him, around here it always rains at the same time 4pm (3 o clock parade, 4 o clock rain, runs like clockwork in the summer). So if you get stuck here in the rain, you're going have to go back to the room to get dry clothes on. I asked the boy, "if you promise to be good, I can give you something really special". So I pulled out 4 re-ads and told him that he could skip any line in the magic kingdom when he comes back in the afternoon. Two days later, the father found me to say thank you.
It was always fun to see the kids light up with excitement over it, but getting that thank you meant soo much more to me.

This is sooo true. I am able to quickly grab the cold bags and bring them in the house and put things in the fridge. I can slide the other bags over to the pantry, to put away later or make my husband do it.

One thing I loathe is putting things away. You might think I am a sloppy/cluttered person, but I'm really not. I used to work at B&N which basically when shelving books you are putting things away. So after working hours of doing that, I hate chores that involve doing so. I will wash and fold laundry, but I will not put the clothes away. I will hand wash and load the dishwasher, but I will not unload it. Hmm those are about the only two chores I do not do.
