This is the place to share stories and chat about pets.

We have a dog named Zuzu. She is notorious for stealing all sorts of pastries and bakery items. She will swipe them off the counter and leave the wrappers.
She's the Bread Bandit.
:rotfl:

We have a dog named Jules, who weighs 86lbs, and has ADHD, I believe. You can keep her busy for at least 45 minutes by hiding her bone, and then telling her to go find it. :lmao: She will search everywhere!

"Did I leave it on the bed? no. COuch? no. Maybe I set it on the tv tray...no." It's so funny.

Zuzu does that with chocolate covered peanuts.
She sniffs them out.

shadow loves to listen to dd play piano, he will lay in the floor in the next room and keep time with his tail. he almost looks like hes conducting , he never misses a beat and if he wants her to play and shes ignoring him, he will sit on the bench and play the piano till she comes in there and plays him a song.

My parents have a turkey named Clyde who's adopted them and, since he's the only turkey in a barn full of chickens (and horses), he tends to want to hang out with people. One night, my mom was in the hot tub and saw Clyde wandering past, so she said hi to him. He got so excited (somebody said hi!) that he ran up the steps to the deck and then flew up onto the edge of the hot tub. He apparently wasn't expecting to be confronted with a giant vat of bubbling water, because he was so startled he fell off of the deck.

My cat Tommy after a run with the boiler. He didn't even care that this giant dustweb was on his head. :lmao:

I'll tell the story of the picture of Lucy that is in my signature. She is a 6 year old Shih Tzu. She jumps up on the couch and knocks over a pillow (that's what the tan thing under her head is). She then reaches up on the back of the couch and chews/bats at/jumps at the blanket until it falls down. She then lays on the pillow and puts the blanket over herself and goes to sleep. Think she's maybe just a little spoiled? :teeth:

speaking of pillows and pets,, we have this little kitten, punky, he was playing on the couch, ( where i am sleeping while my arm is in the splint,) and started to climb my pile of pillows,, and was heavier than the pillow so he t oppled the stacke and was underneath., dw got up, restacked hte pillows and petted him, ( scared him i think) and then he goes running and jumps on it again,, and yup, right back down and underneath , this happened three times.

for everyone:

Do your pets wear anything? ZuZu is a golden retriever and she has a pink bandana.

ZuZu also has a Disney collar. It has Pluto on it.

Sadly, my parakeet Spike passed away over the weekend at only three yrs. old. I was devistated, 'cause it just happened suddenly. My mom & b/f felt so bad, that the next day we went bird shopping, & I got a sweet 12 week old cockateil. Me & my b/f named him Polly. You can see pics of him here . :)

They told me while adopting my first shepherd that he was the strong silent type.

"Yeah, OK, whatever" sez I.

Was walking the knucklehead and around the corner comes a lady with two little ankle-biters who start yapping up a storm.

Next thing I know I'm on my knees trying to get both hands around the leash to stop him. He also literally pulled me outa me shoes!

After that, all I saw of that lady with the ankle-biters was elbows and tails.

I am very sorry about Spike.=(

The cat/piano story was hilarious.

I have a 1 year old Chihuahua named Max. He is very hyper. When I use the laptop he sits on my lap and chases the pointer and tries to eat it. He also tries to eat peoples' avatars that move. :lmao:

We're owned by a 90-pound German Shepherd named Ranger. Our kitchen leads into the laundry room, and they both have the same kind of tile floor. Ranger will walk into the laundry room and look around for a couple of minutes.

But when he turns around to come back out, he stops at the doorway and barks until someone puts a towel down for him to walk across. He seems to be terrified that he's going to slip. I just don't understand how he can be fine on the way in, but can't get out by himself! :teeth:

Jules has a pink sparkly collar for everyday, and she does have one piece of clothing (it's HARD to find clothes for large dogs). It's a red and white Mickey Mouse Christmas sweater- she only has to wear it one day a year, and she always looks devastated about it.

We were once owned by a German Shepherd named Scooter. We have tile in the front part of the house. He is outside one day and it starts raining. He comes tearing into the house, hits the tile and starts to slide. He sits down and sticks own paw out. He slides across the dining room, across the living room and right into the fireplace. Thankfully he wasn't hurt (well his pride was). :rotfl:
Then there was the Katie story. She was outside playing with Scooter. She comes inside and is open and closing her mouth. I bent down and could hear her jaw making clicking noises. We called the vet and told him that Katie was hurt and it might be her jaw. He told us to take her to the clinic and he would meet us there and examine her. He looks in her mouth and asks if she has had any dental work. We said no. He said well there is a crown on her tooth. He pops it off and hands it to DH. It seems DH had lost a crown, put it on the dishwasher and it was knocked off. Katie found it on the floor picked it up and some how it laid flush onto one of back teeth. Which kept her from closing her mouth. :rotfl:

We currently have

Brother and sister: Grumpy and Squiggle.

Grumpy is newly recovered from a liver problem that made him not eat. He enjoys storytime (if we bring out a book to tell a story--here he comes). He is a cuddly kitty and doesn't mind being carried (and not cradled in your home--paws on the shoulder and hind legs around your tummy..much like a little kid). Forever and always--if he has done something wrong and you correct him....he will stay silent. If you think he did wrong and he knows he didn't...he will let you know.

Squiggle--is his silly sister. DH thinks she's kind of a blonde if that makes any sense. She's very drifty. She plays fetch..but plays more catch now. A couple of years ago she sustained a double injury that is very rare in kitty cats. (She was chasing a ball in circles next to a heavy table and rammed her kitty knees into the table). This caused her to blow every single ligament in her "kitty knee" joint. We didn't know she was injured at the time. It was something our little ones witnessed. We later found her in the litter box. We then learned that kitties are good healers--and she was allowed to heal with her knees as they were. The bones all fused together....and my kitty took several months but re-taught herself how to walk, lie down (funny when she wants to do so on her belly--her butt sticks up in the air :)), jump, and even play fetch.

Squiggle and Grumpy are 10.5.

We also have Nala--who hasn't had anything interesting in her life happen as of yet. Her nickname is motor-purr and she drools when she is happy. She is 7.

Tinkerbell--is a delight. She's an indoor/outdoor kitty. She is 3 (I think). We went to the humane society to adopt a pet--and this kitty was outside and she just hopped into my car. We figured that the humane society would be the last place on earth to have a pet living OUTside.

The home where I got my Jack Russell Terrier Pebbles had 3/4 height doors in the kitchen. Couldn't figure out why :confused3 until my little dog was full-grown and can clear a 4 ft. fence from a standstill. She's our Jack Rabbit Terrier!
