has been made available.

I've been told the tours are 12,500 Yuan (or ~$1,923) for a group of 6, which translates to approx. $320 per person.

The number to book is: +86-21-2060 3366, Ext. 2 for English speaking.

They require a credit card, the date and time you wish to book the tour and your full name(s). Once booked the tour is non-refundable but the date can be changed.

I'm going to call tonight to book the tour. Hopefully it's easier than booking the park tickets.

I am hoping they will let us book as a group of 2 since my friend doesn't want to commit until the family gets their passports and visas from the Chinese Embassy.

I'll be really interested to hear about how this all goes, as I'll probably want to do it (if possible!) since I'm staying an extra day in Shanghai in 2017.

Sayhello

Our date is July 10th so I'll be sure to update! Since we are visiting so close to park opening and on a weekend, I figure the Premier tour is necessary if we want to ride the "headliners" and get around the park in the most logical order. I checked and all of them have FP.

One thing I forgot to mention is the maximum time with the guide is 6 hours. Not sure if that was a typo and it's supposed to be minimum -- after all if people are willing to pay $$ for the tour why not maximize the potential revenue?

Please report back after you call tonight to book (and what time you are calling from the U.S.). I am very tempted to book this for one of our two days at Shanghai Disney because we will be there on the weekend as well (Sat. and Sun.). We'll be there shortly after you, on July 16 and 17.

One week after us. Too bad our visits don't overlap.

I am calling at 9:00pm (their hours are 9:00am to 6:00pm and they are 12 hours ahead of us). I'll let you know how it goes. Hopefully smoothly! I have a fear that these tours will book up quickly so I want to make sure we get our date.

We are booked!

Here is the information I obtained (not 100% certain about the accuracy but the young man I spoke to seemed to know what he was talking about, so take it for what it's worth!):

  • the tour is a set price, regardless of the number of people. I went ahead and booked for just the 2 of us and I am HOPING that our friends get their Visas sorted out as the cost will be  for just us
  • they only book 10 tours per day. For July 10th they already had 5 booked; thus the reason why I didn't want to wait for our friends to get their Visas -- if they just started booking these tours in the last day or two they are obviously popular
  • we already know there are 7 rides with Fast Pass access. For the rides without FPs there will be "special access" areas for Premier tour visitors to board the rides (this is a MAJOR incentive for me)
  • there are special areas for the Premier tour groups at the parade and fireworks (I doubt we will stick around for the fireworks, but you never know)
  • the park is 40 - 60 minutes from the Bund by taxi and 50 minutes by subway (you have to change trains once)
  • they anticipate the security line on a Sunday in July will be......ready.....40 minutes. Ouch. He recommended we leave our hotel at 8:00 for a 10:00am tour, though he said the guide will be ready if we are 15 - 30 minutes early.
I have no regrets about booking this. We only have 1 day in the park and I want to maximize our time there. We did the VIP Thrill tour in Disney last year and LOVED it! We hit the headliners in 3 parks in 1 day and had a lovely TS lunch at Hollywood Brown Derby!

One other thing. I mentioned that today is dd's birthday (yes, Star Wars fans she was born on Star Wars day as I'm constantly reminded -- I think it's kind of cute!). Anyways he thought I meant her birthday is July 10th and asked her favorite character. This call took almost 45 minutes (thank goodness for VOIP) and even though I tried to correct him he didn't quite understand. So we shall see what transpires with that! Maybe there will be some pixie dust for her pixiedust:!

Do you know if you book a morning tour for 6 hours (the minimum), do you still get the reserved seating area for the nighttime parades and fireworks? So if your tour was from 10:00AM to 4:00PM and the fireworks were at 11:00PM, would you have reserved seating for the fireworks? Thanks!

Thanks so much for posting. I'm definitely going to try to book this!

I don't know. I will try to find out and post the information. I doubt we will stay around for fireworks especially since we fly back to Toronto on July 11th.

Hey WDW Groupie -

I'm looking to go to Shanghai Disney on July 10th as well and wanted to try to get in on a Premier Tour but don't want to pay for a whole 6 person group for just myself (and potentially one other, if I can coax one of my parents into joining). If you have space, any way you'd consider letting me pay to join your group? Let me know and either way have a great time!!

If our friends don't get their visas for China and therefore can't make it I'm going to keep the tour for just myself and dd. Given that we still have over a month before we leave I'm sure they'll have them before our departure date.

Have a great time in the park!

Does anyone know if there is a CHEAP (or free) way to call Shanghai to book this tour? I am trying to find an app or something that I can use on my AT&T iPhone. Thanks!

Do you have a friend who has VOIP in their home? If you do and don't mind spending 45 minutes at their house on the phone with Shanghai Disney then I'd go that route. Otherwise maybe call AT&T to see if there is some sort of plan you could add-on to make this call. I tried to get the concierge at our hotel to book the tour for us but they wouldn't -- perhaps your hotel might make the call for you.

I have a friend from India and she uses an app called Viber. Free and easy to use. You could try that

Just checking back in to say that we booked the VIP Premier tour for July 16. So excited!

Yay :yay::yay:! We can compare notes when we get back from our trips. It will be interesting to see how you like Thomson. I looked at the itinerary and seriously considered it, but ABD won me over with the luxury hotels. I am excited for this tour and seeing the new (and most expensive to date) Shanghai Disney!
