Shanghai Disney opening day sold out

I honestly believe you could be correct but at the same time IMO the park will have big numbers the first few years because of the shiny new toy effect. This is why I say 5-10

It's uncertain if it will though. Theme parks are a new thing in mainland China and many aren't completely familiar with the Disney brand in Shanghai.

It should be successful. Word of mouth and marketing will drive guests initially, and then it will become ingrained into the culture. This place is going to be like nothing else in China.

People of every nationality like to escape reality. People of every nationality like good storytelling. People of every nationality like safe places for families.

All Shanghai Disney has to do to succeed is meet all the criteria above while offering enough to captivate an audience for a day. Everything we know about this park suggests that it will be one of the most fully built Castle parks to ever launch. Much more fully built out then Disneyland, MK, or HKDL. This is a park launching with a strong roster and more inbound. It should be very successful.

I think should is the key word. This is going to be one interesting piece in Disney history.

Thats completely true. Who knows what will happen. The only words we can use right now is should, could, may, etc. I think it will be an interesting venture to watch the opening weeks of the park.
