I cant believe this is our last day
We made it out to the pool fairly early, and got in some great sun time in our usual spot. Its hard to believe, but the Love Bugs are even worse today. You cant even sit down without smashing a few, and there are dozens on everty table. It's pretty gross, really. But, we enjoyed our time by the pool, and commented on how friendly and good natured everyone has been out here all week. As a matter of fact, in general we have met more really upbeat and friendly CMs than ever before, and the Guests in general seem to be in very good spirits. I am sure the beautiful weather helps, and the low crowds, but it really has been even more Magical and special than usual.
We have serious DDP to attend to today, so we made an ADR for Coral Reef for lunch. We had about a 20 minute wait for our table, and then were seated in the bottom row in half of one of the circular booths. It was a surprisingly lovely view, as all of my (many) other meals at this restaurant we requested the front row with my kids. Our server appeared promptly and took our wine order. Sis had a riesling and I tried a different white which I cannot remember now, but I loved it. I tried the crab claw appetizer and it was interesting, and Sis had the new soufflé appetizer and she loved it. I tasted it and thought it was pretty darn good, too. For my entrée I went with the mahi mahi and it was as good as ever even though they left out the spinach in the interest of prolonging our life. Sis had the lobster roll, and I expected the worst (again, that New England snottiness got in my way) but she loved it! She ordered cheesecake for dessert, but I knew better and got the chocolate wave. Suffice it so say HAHA, I WIN! It was scrumptious. This meal was excellent, and no matter what anyone says, I love the Coral Reef! (Total bill not including wine was $93.54.)
After lunch we rode Spaceship Earth, and then considered our options. Mostly we just wandered around EPCOT yet again, and enjoyed our surroundings and one last walk around World Showcase. We were able to catch the Voices of Liberty. They always, always bring tears to my eyes and this performance was no exception. I just love the purity of their voices and the warm fuzzy good old fashioned feeling it gives me.
We headed back to the resort to relax a bit and do some preliminary packing (wah wah wah.) We were feeling a bit lazy, so we chose the Galley for our last table service meal. The server explained that a couple of wines were on special, but unfortunately she knew nothing about them because she missed the meeting
I had crabcakes for an appetizer and Sis had a salad. Both were okay. I had the chicken which came with mashed potatoes and au jus. It was just okay. I dont remember what Sis had because it just wasnt memorable. For dessert we had Boston Cream Pie and cheesecake. Both were fine but not exciting. This was probably the most ho-hum of our table service meals, but certainly not bad. This was the only place we did not leave an additional tip, but it was definitely not warranted here. (Total bill not including wine was $81.57.)
Anyway, it was back to the room to clean up a bit and then we went out to sit by the pool, sip a cocktail and say GoodBye to our millions of Love Bug friends. The last night is always sad, but we had such a wonderful time, and as Moms we were missing our families, so that going home was going to be okay. Besides, I have a F&W trip planned for mid- October!!!!
