I can’t believe it, but it is another beautiful day. This can’t be September in Florida – it just can’t be! Sis had gotten a breakfast burrito from the Bakery and brought me back a cheese Danish. Mine was excellent, but she was disappointed in hers. I don’t think she used any food credits, and I am beginning to worry about wasting them.

We decided that today we would act like regular people visiting WDW, and headed out to the bus stop to see which bus came first. In about 2 minutes we hopped on to a bus to Animal Kingdom and our adventure began. I was sure Sis wanted to check out Everest, but when we got there she said she’d rather get a fast pass to the Safari. I should have known she was chickening out! We checked out the animals along the path and since our fast pass time was for about 40 minutes from then, we headed down Pangani Trail to visit the gorillas. Unfortunately, most of the gorilla trail is under construction, so there was only the small glassed in area to observe them. The large silverback male and a female were dozing up near the glass, and 2 youngsters were goofing around, but not being very active. So, we moseyed back for our safari. Sis had the misfortune of sitting beside a woman with a dreadful condition who seemed to be shedding skin. Needless to say, Sis was not pleased and did not enjoy the trip! This was shortly before noon, and there seemed to be less active animals than usual, although we still saw quite a few. Have they gotten rid of the cheetahs? The area they used to hang out seemed to be overgrown and not taken care of.

After the safari we headed for Pizzafari to knock off a counter service. I love it here as I find the whimsical murals on the wall to be fascinating, and the kids and I spent many hours in here playing ‘I spy with my little eye’ when they were little tykes. Sis got a pepperoni pizza with a side salad, and I got the Hot Italian (sandwich, not Valerio :rotfl: ) with a side salad. We also had to get chocolate cake to meet our quota. My sandwich was wicked good and Sis liked her pizza. The cake was fine I guess, but certainly overkill as I would never get dessert with this meal in real life.

After a bit more wandering, we realized that it was getting close to Kick Off time, and we decided to just watch the Pats from the villa. We had considered trying to get in to ESPN, but to be perfectly honest we were too lazy to spend the required time in line hoping to get in. So we headed back to the Villa and got settled in. Part way through the first quarter, and after a couple of Coronas, we decided that we should order some football type snacks. So Sis got on the phone and had them rustle up some (super special order) Nachos and wings. Kathy (a friendly Pats fan or very clever room service person) delivered them pretty quickly and we proceeded to enjoy the nachos as we made too much noise watching the game (sorry neighbors). When we broke into the wings, I have to say they were the nastiest excuse for buffalo wings I have ever seen, and trust me, I have seen more than my share!. The meat was BLACK. Even after a few beers, this was not anything I was going to eat. So Sis made a call, and shortly thereafter another platter of wings was delivered. Although these were not quite as disgusting as the original ones, they still pretty much sucked so after eating one apiece we were done. At this point, the game was not going well either. Luckily the Pats held it together enough to squeak out another win. We had made a huge tactical error by ordering room service and paying OOP, as we were stuffed and our ability to eat again (ever) was in doubt.

After the game and a quick swim complete with our Love Bug entourage, we were lamenting about how lame we were for being in the room at 7:30 at night. So Sis made a call and we found out there were extra magic hours at MK! OMG, we headed out like regular Park Commandos! The bus took awhile, and was packed and we ended up in a bus traffic jam but eventually made it into MK with a couple of hours left. We headed up Main Street, and after the goosebumps receeded, went straight for Pirates to see the addition of Jack Sparrow. Sis thinks they messed up the ride, but I didn’t mind. The music was not up to par though, which we had also noticed on other attractions. Little things like that are more noticeable this trip it seems. After POC, we took the long walk though Frontier Land and Fantasy Land to the People Mover. This has always been one of my favorites as it allows me to do all of Tomorrowland from the comfort of my Wedway lounge car. Unfortunately this time, just as we entered the loading area of Space Mountain our car jolted backwards and came to a complete stop. For a number of minutes. And some more minutes. Sis became convinced we were on the wrong track and our Wedway car was going to go hurtling down the Space Mountain track throwing us into oblivion where we would be only a star in the distance of the Space Mountain Sky for all eternity. Just when she started to believe herself, we were set free and continued the rest of our journey uneventfully. Next stop, Buzz Lightyear. I just love this ride, and could do it over and over again. So we did it twice :Pinkbounc As the family record holder it was surprising that I beat Sis by only a couple of hundred points on the first run. Then she kicked my Pompous Behind the second time around. It serves me right for dragging her back on, especially considering she wasn’t feeling too well and needed frequent restroom stops. While she was on a particularly long bathroom break, I took the opportunity to relieve myself of a snack credit with a delicious piece of cheesecake with strawberries from the Main Street Bakery. I highly recommend this! Then it was time to join the throng of bodies headed out to the busses. By some sort of miracle a bus was just finishing loading when we got there, and we squeezed our tubby selves on. A very handsome Dad offered me his seat, but I gave it to Sis as she still wasn’t feeling too great. After she scared the heck out of his little boy, we all became fast friends in spite of his affinity for the Jets. We got back to the villa and called it a night. This was a full day, but we did very poorly in the Food Plan department, and have really set ourselves up for a major commitment to eat away our credits tomorrow.
