Hi friends -

Shameless brag ahead (so you've been warned):

My brother graduated from Basic Training today at Fort Jackson. I couldn't be there but have been in touch with my parents via texting. So proud of him!!

It was also pretty cool - their speaker was our First Lady, Michelle Obama! I thought that was neat that she gave their address @ graduation.

Hugs & a big Thank You to those who's kids, spouses, parents, etc are serving or are vets. God bless you!!

What a coincidence! I was suposed to be there today but something came up. My sister's foster son ( no official foster but he's lived with her for 2 years ) graduated at Ft Jackson today also.

I've been following along with the action on facebook all day. Dsis said that security was very heavy. Much different from my nephew's graduation from Ft Leonard Wood last November.

Hopefully I'll get to see the boy before he has to leave again. He said he has less than 24 hours to report to his training in VA.

It is a really wonderful feeling. I burst with pride when I talk about him.
