Shameful behavior by Southern Select Villas

So, do you think she asked for this to be taken out or the Moderators took it out ?

I just dont want this to happen to anyone else.

She probably asked them. I don't understand their reasoning but I've seen stranger things happen around here.

This thread alone will prevent me from EVER renting a villa from Southern Select. I will even let family and friends know this information as well. What horrible customer service. And for them to respond in such an unprofessional manner...well it just makes me wonder how they will drop the ball in other areas as well. Sad. :sad2:

Good-Luck OP - I do hope everything works out. Hopefully Southern Select Villas will do the right thing and put you in a villa that is equal or better than what you reserved in your contract/non-contract/rental contract or whatever spin was tried to put on your agreement.

Luckily she can not delete post #13 where PrincessKsMom's quoted her. You should print it before it is gone again.

SHE didn't.... the only way a post can completely disappear is for a mod or WM to delete it.

Sorry about your troubles Betty. I know how hard it is to find an accessible home . Hopefully you'll be able to salvage your vacation.

That makes sense but it's too bad that it won't be up for everyone to see how SSV treats their customers. So sorry about your troubles. I really hope you will be set up with accomodations, fabulous ones! Their behavior is shocking; i'm sorry you have to deal with this.
 
Good luck with the situation. It's certainly not a fun way to enjoy a vacation because I believe the planning always builds excitement until the vacation actually starts.

But if you can find some humor in this, I thought I would look up Southern Select. I didn't do a google search, I just typed in SouthernSelect.com.

I am so glad that you're okay, I am so sorry about your accident. I tried calling you and the man who answers your phone told me. I knew it was serious because he told me you would be out for the whole week. I hope that your daughter was not shaken up to much by the whole thing.

I had no luck in trying to rent any of the properties that you gave me for various reasons. I contacted Disney and they have 2 Bedroom villa with a role in shower, washer and dryer and kitchen which was what I had rented with you. I have attached a copy of that Disney quote along with a copy of my total rental contract.

The difference is $4665.20. I feel that the owner of the Villa should reimburse the difference for the villa, since we did have a contract.

I received an e-mail from xxxxxxxxnis (which I am not sure if he is the owner) telling me that my dates were available for that specific time. I purchased air fare on the belief that the rental contract would be honored.

As you know, I cannot stay just at any hotel or home due to my physical limitations.

Please do not take this against you but, I do not think it's right to cancel a person's contract in this fashion.
 
I read how someone said that this was not a WDW related matter. It is sad to think that any part of a vacation is ruined even if not on site.

I did an internet search and did not find much that would show a history of poor service. They have three companies and are 3 men.

What would WDW, Sears, JC Penney, Shoney's and other companies do? The point is that a company should try to negociate with the costumer and help them out but in this case you ran into someone who wont budge. They probably hope that you will reuse the airfare and quit. I hope you can be fully compensated.:thumbsup2

In response to your slanderous post on the DisBoards (which I might point out was deleted by the board moderators ) I am not liable or slandering you or your company, if every word I have written or spoken is 100% accurate, backed up by documentation. Unlike you, I only posted the truth backed-up with documentation about my dealings with you or your company. You should read the thread because I am not the only one your company has a gripe with. You might need to get you wording straight because from your e-mail it was obvious that you didn't even know what you are saying see your words below :

" Furthermore, as stated before, we did not have a contract. The contract that YOU signed was a "Rental Contract".

So, which is it ? You took my deposit and cashed it which shows that we had an agreement, contract or whatever you wanted to call it.

If I wanted to stay at the allstars (with no kitchen, washer, dryer I would have booked it myself, but I wanted a HOUSE, which is what I rented from you. So that is why I called Disney they have a villa with rollin shower, washer and dryer, full kitchen and all amenities that I booked with you. Since you say you go by your cancellation policy I thought I would quote your cancellation policy, in case you don't know it here is a direct quote from it:


"We reserve the right to move your reservation to another equal or better facility ..."


The only reason I did not mention the fare change was because I called the airline to see if I could cancel tickets and they told me that they were non-refundable, but that I could change dates for $100.00 each plus whatever the difference in fair was, but these are the dates we planned on for various reasons, so that was not an option. You have a real nerve calling me manipulative and cunning when your company has already cost me $1045.00 in airfare that I will not be using, and I was only trying to work something out with you that is fair.

If you were in my position you would not be as forgiving. I will continue to answer posts and questions from people with the TRUTH about your actions and how this is handled from now on from your behalf
 
What's the latest? Have they found you something else equal or better. I would be taking legal action at this point.

Thanks guys ! I was feeling a bit depressed and under the weather, so I wanted to take a break from the whole situation. I'm happy to tell everyone that Laura has found 2 properties that may suit our needs. She has emailed me all the information and I have not had time to review but I will. They are more expensive but she has offered to possibly pay the difference.

Will keep all informed ! thank-you for thinking of us :flower3:

Wow...what a mess! I'd be ticked at the whole situation too. Good for you for keeping all the relevant documentation and writing such well-thought out and thorough e-mails. I know people reading this thread, including me, will come away with lots of lessons about renting a villa.:thumbsup2
 
POSSIBLY?? I don't think so, the should absolutely pay the difference. This has been a horrible experience for you, the trip you have researched and planned has turned into a mess because they can't get things straight between themselves and the owners of the villa. None of that was your fault and Laura and Southern Select Villas needs to fix it asap.

They should absorb ANY AND ALL differences in the cost. Do not accept anything less. I admire you so much for standing up for your rights. You deal with issues every day that are a struggle, planning a magical Disney vacation should not be this stressful.
