Asked about our tickets being refundable for our May 15 trip and this is what I received:

We are unable to make any exceptions. If you purchased a ticket that expires, you will be able to upgrade it to different ticket. Magic You Way tickets do not expire till 2030. If you purchased the 2020 Military Promotional ticket you can either upgrade them to the Magic Your Way ticket or what till the 2021 Promotional ticket is released and upgrade then. That usually occurs in October.

I hope they reconsider once/if the parks are shut down for months. Unfortunately having service members in Hawaii makes it extremely hard to get stateside. Don’t know how their resort will deal with the DOD putting into place travel restrictions. I’m ok delaying our trip, just annoyed with their poor procedures.

You really think you will never be able to get back to Disney World? To use the value of the tickets toward new tickets?

These tickets are for active service members only. She bought these for a family reunion, so there were 5 purchased. The rest of us have annual passes. No guarantee they can get in from Hawaii in 2021 with deployments. It’s just an unusual situation. We will see how it works out. Curious how their hotel will function since it’s primarily for active duty and they are not permitted to travel now.

I understand the military aspect -- we are a military family who have used the Armed Forces Salute discounts since they began in 2009.

I am just saying that even if she can't use them in 2020 or 2021, I am confident that their value can be used toward future tickets.

I am also quite sure that the lack of refunds is more a Disney policy than a Shades of Green one.

I do hope they get to travel to WDW at some point.

At this early point in time, we don't know the extent of what will and won't be possible regarding the "regular rules."

We have military salute tickets for our May trip. My SIL active duty member is getting out of the military this summer. I haven’t called Disney yet but am fearful that we will lose our money. It really sucks

Still too early to know this kind of thing.

Retirees and certain civilians also have access To SoG. but They will go by the governors recommendation regarding status. Regardless, they can convert the tickets to the everyday military ticket which is good until 2030.
