My sister (19) will be going with us to Disney. She is a student, living at home with our Mom and Dad. Dad is retired military, so sis has a military ID. Can she make ressies in her name so we can either stay at SoG or get military discount? If so, what # do you call to inquire about these ressies? Does she have to get her military discount ticket at SoG? (My family already has their tickets). Thanks for any input!

If I remember correctly, the SoG is closing in April I believe for renovations. I believe they will be closed til 2003, but I'm not sure when in 2003 they will open back up. Ah, I just found the info. I will leave you a link so you can read up on the SoG. I do hope I've helped.

Thanks Tiggerlover. (I, too, am a Tigger Lover!) I guess what my real question is, though, is can my sister get us the room. She will be staying in the same room with us (hubby, me & 2 boys). I don't want to just call and make a fool of myself if she is not even eligible. Thanks again!

I think that she can stay at the SOG. The SOG is closing April 1 but there will be the same amount of rooms available at the COntemporary resort for the same prices. Not sure if she will need her father's permission or a copy of his ID card, but I know that as a spouse I have stayed at the SOG without my husband. I hope it works out for you.. with two boys you will LOVE the Contemporary's location.

As long as she has a valid dependent ID card, she would make the reservation in your Dad's name since he is the sponsor, although each sponsor is only allowed 3 rooms. If your Dad all ready has 3 rooms under his name, she will not be able to get a separate room. If overflow is offered (because SoG is sold out and the wait list is closed), the reservation would be put in her name, although she will still need her ID card for proof. She can purchase her tickets any where she wants. The phone number is 888-593-2242.

Thanks! This was just what I hoping to hear. I knew I would find out here. Wish me luck now getting a ressie for the first week in June. My sister has never been to Disney and she is thrilled we're taking her with us. Thanks, again!

I hate to be the one to burst your bubble, but you won't get a reservation with SoG/CR. Not right now, any way. At this point, we're sold out until the end of Aug and the wait list is closed until Aug 8. The best we're going to be able to do for you is help you out with an overflow ressy. Sorry!!

If you want to try again in a month....by that time, we should have been able to hit a Jun wait list once or twice. I'm fairly certain we won't have rooms available (though I could be wrong), but the wait list *may* have reopened. Please keep in mind that we can't have you on the list AND have booked you a reservation into overflow for the same time frame. However, you are welcome to make back up reservations on your own and be on our wait list (as long as the list is open). I hope that helped!
