Shades of Green area during golf tournament questions

My husband and I will be staying at Shades of Green from Oct. 18 to Oct. 26. The Funaii golf tournament is being held from Oct. 20 to Oct. 24. How bad is the traffic in the area? What other problems should be be aware of? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

DH and myself stayed at SOG last year during the first part of the Funaii Classic. The only slight problem we experienced was buses parked on the main entrance road. They were either waiting for or dropping off people involved in and or observing the Classic. That was a bit difficult only because of the limited space and two way road.

If we came back to the resort during the day parking was very, very limited. I have read that SOG is now charging for parking so that may have been taken care of.

i've stayed at SOG several times, not during a golf tournement. I live in Augusta GA where we have the Masters and boy does it get crazy around here! I think there is only one way into SOG and it is also the one used for the golf club. Hopefully most people will be staying at area resorts and they will use the buses. Have you been to SOG? The course completely surounds the hotel. It's very beautiful, but i am sure there will be increased traffic in the lobby area. You can pm me if you would like more info. Missy
