LOS ANGELES (AP) - Roseanne is staging a TV comeback.
The actress and comedian is set to star in a reality workplace comedy for ABC, the trade Variety reported Friday.
The network is close to finalizing a 13-episode commitment with Roseanne, who would serve as executive producer with filmmaker R.J. Cutler ("The War Room"), the publication reported.
The 49-year-old starred for 11 years in the sitcom "Roseanne," which was a huge hit for ABC.
"We're thrilled to have her back at ABC," said Andrea Wong, the network's senior vice president for alternative series and special. "With Roseanne, you're guaranteed funny."
Roseanne developed the idea for the project, and she and Cutler pitched the idea to several networks, Variety said. Wong said ABC bought the project "in the room."
The setting of the workplace is still being finalized. The half-hour show could begin airing in summer 2003.
