Sewing Teddy Bears

Does anyone have any experience sewing teddy bears? I have some patterns and I have been putting away fleece remnants for future construction; any tips or suggestions to putting together child-proof bears would be greatly appreciated.

I have been to a "knit-a-teddy-bear" course (I went to the course, my grandmother has knitted my bear, lol).
It was with special teddybear-wool (very fluffy).

Now, what we did was knitting 2 pieces: front + back. Then we sewed them together and filled it. Eyes and nose was bought in plastic from a craft store. We also knitted dresses for the bear.
