~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

I am so disappointed in your dad's church. If they don't shape up with his land line, I'd definitely give them a piece of my mind.

Can't wait to see the bag later today!

I will keep my fingers crossed for a free dining offer that will allow you to maximize your time at Disney and your time at home with your visiting family. I don't think it's possible to stay at Disney long enough to get to see everything!

Love, love, love how this bag turned out! I have never done anything with the Steps before - and it was so much FUN! Love the colors and I love the applique - especially with the "photobombing" going on. ;)

Can't say that I accomplished anything yesterday.

Bad me.

I did lift though, so that's good. I am up to deadlifting 75lbs - which isn't much, but I've definately increased my strength over the last few months.

I am also really starting to notice my body changing... Once I took off those extra calories I was (accidentally) eating, it just seems to be melting away. I've also started eating a mostly Primal/Paleo diet - which is making a HUGE difference in my energy and sleep. I am very excited about it.

I noticed yesterday that I can tighten my belt another notch. Considering that this is a belt I coulnd't even get around my waist last summer, and now I can put it on the 3rd notch in... I am happy with that. It's the progress I like to see.

So, anyways - I was very lazy yesterday... I did nothing, except for cook.

Today, I will be starting my next custom order.

I do have a hair cut appointment this afternoon. Not that I am in desperate need right now, but I know what happened the last time I skipped one - don't want to go through that again.

Josh is staying home today - he wasn't feeling well last night. I sure hope he isn't sick. :crazy2:

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday! I will be back later to post pictures of last weeks' custom order. Sending out hugs and prayers to all who need them. :grouphug:

D~

Just wanted to chime in here about churches failiing their congregants - same thing happened to me. I was a member of a local church for many years. I went through a bout of depression several years ago and stopped attending church. Not one person, including the pastor, called to see if I was okay (I wasn't). I figured that if that's what they called being a Christian, then an organized church was not for me. The last time I was there was when my son got married, and I have no intention of ever going back.

I hope Josh is okay.

We are in the midst of a snow "event" (don't you just love the new terminology?), but since it was just starting to snow when I left this morning, I am currently at work. I'm going to be leaving soon, but we keep hoping the higher ups will just close the County down for the day. Counties to the east and west of us are closed :confused3

I don't know how you manage to come up with such fabulous bags time after time. I'm so jealous.:rotfl: This one is my new favorite. There is one lucky person out there!

I missed my last hair appointment because of snow, my gray roots are about an inch long now. Not very attractive :rolleyes1 Luckily, I have an appointment on Thursday.

I have all the pieces quilted for my new Mickey bag, but I need to get some zippers before I can go any further, so that is on hold until I can get to the store.:crazy2: Guess I really shouldn't try to go to Joanns this afternoon.

Have a productive day!

Another fantastic bag! This is a great spin to a normal princess design, its a very girly villian bag:rotfl2:

Ugh I would just like to find someone to cut my hair that actually listens to me and knows what they are doing!

OMG that is one squishy precious baby in his Pooh outfit.

Great Bag! And I noticed something about your applique process. Do you outline in the straight stitch before or after you satin stitch? It looks like after and makes a huge statement in the definition of your characters.

Yeah, I'm a PK but pretty much as an adult I'm like Iamthequeen - organized religion of any kind is at best amusing.

My major weight loss step is trying to eat less period. So far I think it's working because I just pushed away from lunch with some left on the plate.

Good Short Week everyone.

Good Morning D!

Congratulations on the progress! I am still sooooo proud of you! I know how exciting tightening that belt just a little bit more can be!!!

I definitely plan to steal you at least for a little while during your trip! DTD would be fabulous! Wonder if there will be any flash photography on the boat!

Thanks Tasha! I am just so happy there is progress!

Hahaha... I will be bringing my shades just in case. :cool2:

FIRST i must say BABY Jeffery is the CUTEST little guy!!! just squishable!!!! CONGRATS!!! so glad to hear everyone is healthy and home..

D~
Do you want a picture to hang in your Dad's new apartment? if so let me know which one and what size...

Can't wait to see the new bag...

Ooooh YES!!!! I would love one... I will try to go through them this week. He has NOTHING hanging in his bedroom at all... That is so AWESOME of you to offer!!! So excited!!! THANK YOU!!!!

Yeah yeah yeah your doing good on your diet... Whatever... I will fix all that weight loss crap on the next Epic dis meet...
Seriously.. your doing fantastic.. wanna come and help a fellow Chicagoan out? i need to lose about 60...

Well, I wish I had some magnificant and motivational advice for you, but I don't. I just know that if I don't want to lose size - I won't. If my mind isn't in it, then it just doesn't happen. Sadly. Not sure if that's the boat you are in or not? If anything... Start SMALL... Swap out a soda for a glass of water... Add more veggies and protein to your plate than other stuff... Remember that eating FAT doesn't make you fat (seriously) - so avoid that fat free crap like the plague - it's full of BAD chemicals and LOTS of processing - which is worse for you body than eating it's full fat counterparts. <----- Dead serious. And for God's sake... Ditch the diet soda (if you drink it) - it's possibly the worst thing anyone could ever drink.

And then, my latest and FAVORITE blog: www.marksdailyapple.com He has certainly opened my eyes to all of the bad for me foods (which I previously thought were good for me) I insisted on eating to "lose weight"... YIKES - quite scary! :scratchin

My husband was very mad at Downton Abby the other night when Anna decided not to tell her husband what happened. He threatened to stop watching the series. I had to laugh that he had gotten that wrapped up in it

LOL Sounds like Josh... He will sit on the love seat with his tablet - but he will totally put his tablet down and watch Downton... LOL - he loves it and he knows it - he just doesn't want us to know it... But it's pretty obvious. :rotfl2:

So glad things went well for you and Josh and that your Dad is still doing great. What a load off your mind. Makes it easier to leave him I'm sure. Glad he liked the card.

Yes, it is... And thank you again Lois - it means a lot to me. You have been such a wonderful friend - I hope we get to meet someday. :grouphug:

I think when you have that talk with BFF about all the character meals and the logistics, you should just honestly tell her up front that you and the girls will need some down time, just the three of you. I know you don't want to hurt her feelings or offend her in any way, but if you explain it to her ahead of time, I don't see how she could be hurt over it. Once there, she may realize the SHE would like a bit of alone time as well. She has no idea what that heat is going to feel like!

Well, I have told her... "the girls and I are going to break away from you and O occasionally..." She just shruggs it off... So, hopefully we can. :crazy2: I will keep telling her, and keep reinforcing her that it's OK.

I'm so sad that your Dad's church hasn't been there for him! I do hope he finds another one closer by since I don't think it was cell phone problems. Someone could have visited him while he was in the hospital at the very least. When we moved three years ago, we left our church we'd been a part of for many years. When they found out about Caroline's struggles when she was born, they called to see if they could do anything and the pastor called for follow up so he could update the congregation. I was so moved. That's the way a church should be, IMO.

Wow - what a wonderful church you belonged to... Caring and compassionate - like churches should be. Unfortunately - my dad belongs to a rare demonation, and the church he attends is the only church in the area... The next closest church is closer to me... So, it's that church or no church - and he is very devout - so the option of switching religions is not an option at all. Oh well - I will do what I can for him, I admire him for his solid as a rock faith.

I'll check back later to see if you've posted your latest bag. Don't sweat taking yesterday off...you deserved it! Hope you're having a great day!

Thank you Lois - I hope you had a wonderful day too. :thumbsup2

Oh - I will - trust me... At the risk of embarassing my father - unfortunately, because that is not the way he raised me. But still - I think it's pretty crappy of them.

Thanks! I hope a FD offer is released - since they seem to be so rare these days.

Amazing work d!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Mo! I am very happy with it.

This is just awful - and you have EVERY reason to be upset - I would be too. :grouphug:

I hope Josh is okay.

I think he was just tired? He slept all day and all night... I think he is getting ready for work right now?

We are in the midst of a snow "event" (don't you just love the new terminology?), but since it was just starting to snow when I left this morning, I am currently at work. Thank you - I just love this one!

I missed my last hair appointment because of snow, my gray roots are about an inch long now. Not very attractive Luckily, I have an appointment on Thursday.

Mine are starting to peek through again - I hate my gray hair. :scared: Yesterday was just a cut for me... Hopefully, by my next cut - it will be grown back out to my "inverted bob" style that I like so much - I really didn't like my short hair this time around, and it's taken forever to grow it out.

I have all the pieces quilted for my new Mickey bag, but I need to get some zippers before I can go any further, so that is on hold until I can get to the store. Guess I really shouldn't try to go to Joanns this afternoon.

I cannot wait to see your bag!!! :coffee:

Thank you! I really love it too!

It took me a long time to find my stylist - and I just LOVE her! She is the cousin (by marriage) of one of my neighbors, and once all of my neighbors started going to her - I followed along. Now we all have GREAT hair. :rotfl2:

Thanks Ruth! I am very happy with how it turned out. It was such a fun bag to make! :beach:

Just don't try to eat too much less... Not trying to be preachy - but if you eat too little, you will have a loss, but you will stall because you'll slow down (and possibly damage) your metabolism. So just be careful that you eat enough to fuel your body. For me... I NEED just over 2000 calories just to LIVE and breathe... To lose, I take 15% off of that... :thumbsup2 There are some great calculators out there to determine what you really need, here's one: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ I know this one says it's for "body building" but all of these calculators are basically the same. Most traditional (and popular) diet plans have people eating too little.

Awesome bag and wallet! How fun!

Thanks Ann! I love it too!

Great Bag D~!!! As always....I will be wishing for free dining for you while I am wishing for mine

Thanks Raina! For sure... I will wish for FD for you too. When is your trip?

Your work is beautiful!!

Thank you very much!

Quick drive by!

Love the bag1

Nini

Thanks Nini!!! :beach:

**********************************************************

Yesterday, I cut out and quilted my next custom order. I didn't quite finish quilting, I have a little bit left to do this morning.

Then I had to run to town... Alli forgot her note cards for a class - so I had to bring them in. I despise going to their school, because there is NO WHERE to park... So, I have to park in the boon-docks just to run in and run out - it's so annoying. It wouldn't be that bad if they actually PLOWED occasionally - but when I have to run through piles of snow... Super annoying!

Stopped at Target - grabbed a few - ahem - non'necessities.

Ran home.

Went to get my hair cut... It's finally growing out - I am *almost* back to my inverted bob style that I like so much... HOpefully by my next color/cut. :thumbsup2

We had leftovers for dinner last night.

Then I sat on my tablet reading blogs all night, while the girls watched TV & Josh slept. :rolleyes1

Today, I will be finishing up my quilting from yesterday. Then I will start the applique. I also have to lift this morning - but I really don't want to... I am still a bit sore from Monday's lift, and I don't want to push myself. I may just do my WATP dvd today and tomorrow and lift again on Friday? We'll see. :confused3

I hope you all have a spectacular day. Pixie Dust and Prayers to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

Hi D,

The new step sisters bag is adorable. Can you tell me what lifting program you are doing? Congrats on the progress. I am doing the couch to 5K program and weight watchers. I am still waiting to see some progress. Have a great day!!

Saw the bag on FB and love love love it.

I am debating an inverted bob. I want to do something different and I think with my super straight hair that would be a great route.

I get to sew during the day today since I sent J to school. Routine is so important to him. I kept C home. We have to drive a lot of back roads and 2 are steep hills I am just not comfortable driving and it has nothing to do with my ability LOL.

have a great day.

Good Morning D!

Love the Step Sisters bag!:thumbsup2 The colors are so bright and the applique is so cute!

I hear ya on the hating going to the kids school thing. Talea's school is the same way. If we don't have to walk two miles to the door I feel like I hit the lottery!:lmao:

Have a great day friend!:goodvibes

The bag is gorgeous!! I don't remember you using a lot of yellow, and this is beautiful fabric! I know it will garner a LOT of attention in the parks for whomever uses it. Fantastic job, D~!!!

You are spot on with the weight loss advice. Anything that is sugar-free, fat-free or reduced fat is POISON!!! And the diet sodas...don't even get me started. I'm glad you're getting educated on eating properly. Our diets begin in the grocery store. The fewer packaged products we buy, the better off we are. Keep up the good work, D~. You're an inspiration to a lot of people.

This is :offtopic:,but I was wondering if they ever discovered why your friend's husband took off for a while. I still think about that sometimes because I know it was so traumatic for your friend. Hope they are working through it.

If you weren't able to lift, don't sweat it. (haha no pun intended) You know your body and will make the right decisions for it. Hope you are staying warm. I have to go out this morning for some ingredients for a crock pot meal. It is zero degrees out without the wind chill factored in, so I'm waiting a bit to see if it will warm up to just frigid!:rotfl: Have a great day of sewing!

:teleport: I seem to spend a lot of time at my mother's "escaping" by either planning fantasy trips or reviewing past trips. Our 32nd anniversary is this year so I was trying to figure out an appropriate place to go (that's the fantasy part, I don't see how we'll be able to get away).

:confused3 It's not the silver anniversay so can't go to Nevada, the silver state. Not gold anniversary so can't go to California, the golden state. So I decided to look up which state was the 32nd to come into the union. Low and behold, it's MINNESOTA. That gave me a good chuckle, because I know you've been wanting me to come visit.

:woohoo: Minnesota!!!

Well if this doesn't inspire me to get up and do something NOTHING does..

that's it. I am going to get this fat *** into shape!!!

I got about a week behind once again but I'm all caught up now!

So glad everything has worked out so well with your Dad. Too bad his church has failed so miserably, I can understand why you are so angry about that.

Love the stepsister bag!

We are actually getting snow here in NC!!! It is my day off, and although I had errands to run I am sitting around the house doing Disney crafts and reading up on my threads...... (I am NOT going out in the snow :lmao: too cold AND people around here CAN NOT drive in it!!! there is a reason I do not live in MN with my family hehehehe) luckily ours will probably melt in a few days and it will be back to normal, I do not envy you up there though!

Anyhow, to answer your question....we are going Sept 24-Oct 5 and staying at POR. We've only changed our reservations about 4 times in the past year so I think this one will stick :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: (the dangers of planning for two years hahahaha)
