Several thoughts I had through out today.

Ugh, I know how you feel... my school feels like a prison sometimes too.

If you're walking down the hall during a class, even if you clearly have your passbook with you, the staff will like tackle you down, interrogate you, search your locker, and call your parents. Mmkay, not really. But seriously, they're psycho.

And with this idiot kid that made a 'hit list' last week, things have been going even better. :furious:

I have finals all next week and I'm dreading it, so you have all the support you need right here Sparx.

I have an AP class so I'm very scared about that!! My friends have been telling me its harad but I dont know so yeah...

I hated sitting in the same room with the same teacher and same kids all day. I love our block schedule, its alot better than Elementary school ever was. My school's block schedule is as follows:

7:59= First Bell
8:05-9:17= First Block
9:23-10:55= Second Block
10:55-11:34= Lunch
11:40-12:52= Third Block
12:58-2:11= Fourth Block

We have 72 minutes in each class, and 6 minutes between classes. I don't know if anybody else's Blocks alternate but ours do; and if you don't know how that works this is how that goes:

Day 1: ABCD
Day 2: DCAB
Day 3: BADC
Day 4: CDBA
Day 5: DCAB
Day 6: ABCD
Day 7: CDBA
Day 8: BADC

The second semester is the same except for the letter substitutions to represent our different blocks:

1st Semester: A= 2nd Semester: E
1st Semester: B= 2nd Semester: F
1st Semester: C= 2nd Semester: G
1st Semester: D= 2nd Semester: H

We obviously don't have eight days of school in one week, so our schedule just goes into the next week. If you end on Friday at Day 5, then on Monday it will be Day 6 and so on and so forth.

It's a very easy block schedule and I like it SO much better than Elementary school set-ups. Glad I haven't had to sit in one class all day for a couple years. :thumbsup2

i have block sceduling too. each block is an hour and a half. we get 10 min passing period and 35 min lunch ( i think ).

blk.1 7:30am-9:00am
blk.2 9:10am-10:40am
blk.3 10:50am-1:05pm
blk.4 1:15pm-2:45pm

we have a days and b days. spanish, math and gym every other day, so we have those classes all year. english, sciences, other classes half a year and they are every day.

i have four finals a year. the first final is only for the everyday classes and that is in Oct. Usually the final takes the whole blk (90mins) and is about 150 questions. Then in January we have finals in all academic classes. The tests are the same (90min and 150 questions).

After the finals in Jan. we get new everyday classes, we still keep the every other day classes till the end of the year

Then in March we have finals again for the new everyday classes. (90mins 150 q's) Then at the end of the year we have finals in all classes, (90 mins 150 q's)

during finals in Oct and Mar, if you have a final for 1&2 blk you test thurs then 3&4 tests on friday. Friday is a half day (we are dismissed @ 10:40pm). if you only have one final on friday you leave at 9:10am. if you have both you leave @ 10:40. if you dont have a final in on fri you dont go to school.

finals in Jan and Jun. we test wednesday thursday and friday. wednesday is a whole day, a day only classes test that day. thursday is a half day and b day only classes test. the friday is also a half day, whatever classes you havent had a final you in then.

But an hour and a half of English? I love the sound of that!
If you had my teacher you'd be wanting to shoot yourself about halfway through.

I hate having all academic classes in a row. On some days, I have extended French, English [each minute is like an hour!] and then double science. With NO breaks! It stinks. I have free only 5 out of 8 days, and it is a short block at that.

My exams are gonna rock.

Monday is Health early, which is mad easy (its weightlifting and football conditioning moonlighting as health). Second is Pre-Chem...hard. But we take that test, go to lunch, and leave.

Tuesday is English and Civics. Both easy if I study. Again, I take the exam, and eat lunch, then I'm out.

Wednesday is Business Computer Applications and Algebra I...BCA is easy and Algebra is Ok. Same lunch schedule.

Yep, I get out at 1 everyday. Then its christmas holidays after wednesday.

I don't have exams anytime soon. We had our midterms at well.. mid-term. Then its finals at the end of this semester and midterms again mid-term of next semester and finals at the end of the year. Phew! Oh, and I start writing Provincial Exams next year!

I've come to the conclusion that my high school looks like a prison. My middle school doesn't look like a prison, and the inside is beautiful.

It has the long sweeping lawn where they can pick you off one by one if you try to run for it. We don't have a big lawn, in the front or the back...

The impossible to scale chain link fences. We don't have fences...

High windows. Ours are low.

Two tone bricks. Yeah, mine too.

My english teacher developed a crippling migrane after administrating her sixth midterm. I thought midterms were supposed to stress students out? :confused3 Teachers get stressed out too!

The local prison gets better food than my school does. And my school's food is too expensive. We're students. We don't have that much money. I agree that MOST of the food is terrible, but ours isn't that expensive.

Block schedules=evil. Pure and simple. I feel no need to elaborate on that. I don't have a block schedule, so I don't know about them.

Silence is deafening. My classes have been totally silent over the past few days. I just want to scream when the room is totally silent for hours on end. That makes class a great place to gather your thoughts and finish homework from other classes or catch up on that great book your reading.

Right now, in middle school, we have a schedule for each day. It's always the same, we just don't have the same classes everyday. 7 Periods.

Next year, it's going to be the same classes everyday. That will drive me nuts.

Better get used to it...college classes are an hour to an hour and a half each...some are up to three hours!!! But they're all spaced out nicely...so that's pretty cool.

Random thought? Mass punishment is SOOOOO WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!! GR!

Other random thought...I am missing my college friends a lot more right now than I thought I would.

Having the same classes every day will drive you nuts? thats all I've ever had.

I just have issues.
I mean, if I had my Thursday classes everyday, I would go nuts. Art, gym & science lab. NO ENGLISH. I'd got nuts. I need to have it different everyday to be happy.

Our High School has A Days and B Days, so I guess that's kinda like blocking scedueles. I'm only in Jr. High so I still have half a year left before I get into my hour and a half long classes.
