Several Kids' Moments During Our Trip

We had quite a few of the magical moments for our kids during this trip. My favorite was in the Canada pavilion in Epcot. We were in there soon after WS opened, and I noticed a sign that said something about Junior Rangers helping to look for lost animals. There were four "lost" stuffed animals placed throughout the store, identifiable by a green necklace. DD found one right away, and the cast members gave DS a ton of hints so he could find one, too. The next two were much harder to find. The CMs were really into it, probably because my kids were so excited about this. We were there for at least half an hour looking for the lost animals. After they found all four animals, they got a magic moments certificate. I bought them each a stuffed animal to remember the experience. They still are talking about when they helped find the animals!

Here are some more of the moments:

  • At CBR, there was an impromptu limbo dance one afternoon and DD was selected to participate. She was given a bunch of beads and a certificate.
  • One morning, we were waiting for DH to grab some Fastpasses at Soarin'. We were near a Crocs stand, and the CM invited DS to be the Decorator for the Day and choose the decorations for the display shoe. The CM made a big deal and announced that Zach had completed the display and gave him a certificate. Every time we walked by it, DS pointed and said "I did that." He is speech delayed, so it's a big deal when he initiates communication like that.
  • DD received one of the special Tink trading pins from a CM at the Photo Shop in MGM on her last day. The CM told her to give it to someone at the airport who was just starting their trip and tell them what a good time she had. It was the perfect touch to end the vacation on a positive note. Airports going home are SO depressing!
  • DD was chosen as the Customer of the Hour at the store right at the front of MGM (Crosswords to the World?). The CM gave her a special pin and a certificate.
  • We all won YOAMD lanyards exiting the train on Main Street one afternoon.
  • One of the CMs at the Buzz Lightyear ride gave DH 12 fastpasses one evening and told him it was part of the YOAMD celebration. Including the fastpasses that DH had just had printed from the machines, we rode Buzz 4 times in a row in the crazy crowds.
  • One afternoon at the Poly pool, both kids were asked to participate in some water games one afternoon. They didn't stick around for the certificates because the rain started.

Also, nothing of a "certificate" thing, but DD had just broken her arm before we left and was casted from fingertips to the above the elbow. She got TONS of special attention and the characters all signed her cast. She was made to feel very special because of that cast.

DH is peering over my shoulder and reminded me of his magical moments when I changed DS' diapers (twice) on vacation. :rotfl: I hate poopy diapers! (We're working on toilet training, DD has developmental delays and I wasn't going to push anything at Disney.)

I think that much of what we experienced is part of what I call the Disney Experience. Those little special moments are what Disney does best. Whether it be YOAMD or a renewed focus on making the customer's stay magical in little ways that are long remembered, this is why we come back to Disney time and time again.

Sounds like you had a great time. Our trip isn't for anothe 8 months and I am already excited.

I couldn't help but notice the above statement in your post. Did you mis-type or are you toilet training your DH? :)

Glad you had a great time and got some dreams!!!:thumbsup2
We leave in 7 days and I can't wait!!

MG, I just spit Pepsi at the monitor. Could that be a Freudian slip!?! Thanks for pointing that out, I fixed it.
