Seven Months Booking for Christmas Question

Hi.

I currently have a Treehouse Villa booked for December 26-January 1.

Is it almost impossible to get a two bedroom at a monorail resort or Boardwalk/Beach Club area?

If not, Ill be happy to be closer to DTD.

NYE is the toughest part of that reservation. My best guess is that you'll have to waitlist. Good luck!

Unless by a 2BR you are including the Poly bungalow, which is likely to be open, getting a 2BR at an Epcot or monorail resort will be quite difficult with best chance of the likely low chances being VGF.

I don't know last year's history but my guess is NYE fireworks from Poly are going to be in high enough demand that snagging two rooms at 8AM 7 months out might be a hard trick.

Many of us thought Poly studios might be easier to get this year during DVC's high demand period from late Sep to marathon weekend in Jan, but that is not turning out to be the case. What has been happenning at 7 months out with Poly studios for much of the time during October is that the day you want to arrive either disappears shortly before 7 months out, or when open at 7 months out it disappears online within seconds after 8 a.m., meaning your computer has to be faster than others in communicating with Disney's computer to have a chance. Moreover, now some days are starting to disappear well before 7 months out in extremely high demand times like first week of December, Thanksgiving and the Wine & Dine race weekend in Nov. Although possibly still some chance to grab Poly studios exactly 7 months out for Christmas holiday time, the trend is not good.

Many have stated that until the PVB contracts sell out getting a standard Studio there at 7 months should not be a problem even in December. At this the 8+ month mark 12/4 (Sunday) through 12/8 (Thursday) are already sold out.

I think it's hard to say where that lands. This is the first year of days hitting unavailable BEFORE 7 months.

As a Poly owner, this is the 2nd year in a row I am booked in early Dec AND I have someone else booked in early Dec.

I have been watching poly reservations for early december every few days or so for the last few months and right at about 6 weeks before the 7 month window, early december started booking up. I was surprised and hoping that wouldn't happen, but not really. There is a very small window of low crowds + christmas stuff - unlike other popular times like food and wine festival and the halloween party which run for months. That said I was surprised that thanksgiving, christmas, new years are all still available. I think there might be a nonzero chance of getting it just because I think that MOST people who plan for christmas/new years would likely plan in advance assuming it will be tough to get. If it is available at the 7 month window, I assume it will go in seconds... but still kind of surprised by how booked up everything is for the first week of december already while the major holidays stay available. I was also watching BLT for my backup to Poly and that is gone (all room sizes) for most days that week as well - it seems like as soon as the xmas party dates were released, the next day the xmas party nights at BLT were all gone.

it's all speculation of course but interesting to see what happens.
