Good morning from Fort Campbell Js & Ks!

I know this is the "lite" thread but I cannot find a general AKL thread so here goes Can someone tell me if in a studio at Jambo there is a

4 cup coffee maker OR a 12 cup coffee maker OR the new pod type coffee maker?? I need to pack coffee and filters for our upcoming trip, or search out the type of pods that fit into the other machine. Thanks so much

Sorry, this probably won't be much help, but they USED to have 4-cup machines at AKL (the Villas have 12-cup). I say "used to" because I believe AKL recently replaced all the machines with pod style coffee makers. I have no clue what type of pods.

thanks RachelTori! I am in the middle of getting our stuff together for our trip and coffee is very important. Filters and coffee if it is the 4 cup style, and if it is the Pod style then I need to figure out which kind and go buy lots of those.

also, thanks for the update on the coffee pots........ it's been awhile since I stayed in a studio........... but I'm pretty sure it "used" to be the small pots- I need to find out too if they switched in the 1br's for our May trip! I hope if they did it's a Keurig - that's what I have at home and I have TONS of cups!!!

on another note, my DIL has an appt. tom, the little princess has NOT yet turned, so they are doing an ultrasound in the morning - if she hasn't turned, then they are going to schedule a c-section for april 3rd. I told her that may be a blessing in disguise, because she is SO tiny, she may have a rough delivery regardless --------- so, we'll find out tom. AND - baby jeffrey is doing great and getting big....... I'll post a pic of him later!!! Hugs my friends, have a wonderful day!!! We're going baby shopping!!!

Morning *** UPDATE on the coffee pots - I just called the lodge and they transferred me to housekeeping, she said they have the little paper pods - that are pre-packaged, but IF you want to bring your own, they use regular paper filters, she said the machines have not been changed. (and I SO wanted to bring my k-cups too -- oh well)

Hmmm... Interesting. Isn't that what they have had all along?? I was thinking that I had read somewhere that they had finally gone with the single serving pods (similar to a K-cup idea) like they have in the CL lounge.

Friends of ours were staying at AKL when we went down in Oct also and they had a regular coffee pot, with a paper filter and coffee...

Darn! I could go up to SF and we could hang out, but I'm going to Dallas in mid September and then I leave for WDW on the 10th of Oct. That wouldn't leave time to make a trip up to my parent's house. They live less than an hour from the city.

They are definitely keeping you busy!

Right now I am scheduled to be there the 29th of Sept thru the 5rth of October...

I have spent half the morning in meetings and the things they were covering were things that took place while I was out, so none did anything while I was out they just waited until I got back... At least I know they need me and so do they!

Oh I agree... people should have been doing stuff, but they got lazy and just kept putting it off until I got back... I mean some of this stuff is 10 weeks old and now it is an emergency state!

I hate when that happens! There are some things about working in an office environment that I do not miss at all. The never ending meetings is one of those things!

I'm so excited that we just booked a 1BR Savannah view villa at Kidani!

We were booked at the Beach Club but half of Stormalong Bay is going to be closed so we moved over to Kidani. I think the kids are going to LOVE it! I was on the fence about making the change but now I'm really happy we did it! I only have one month to go & didn't do that much research before changing resorts so I have a lot to learn. I did stay at Kidani for a weekend with some friends back in Jan 2011 but we didn't spend much time at the resort so I'm curious about what options there are for our resort time.

I haven't read through the tread yet but wanted to make sure I'm in the right place - does this thread cover both Jambo & Kidani?

Welcome! You'll find a lot of knowledgeable and helpful people on this thread, but we do get a little chatty. There is a wealth of information in the first post and lots more sprinkled throughout. Your best bet is to ask some questions about what you want to know. Everyone will answer to the best of their ability.

Welcome!!! Yes, we cover both Jambo and Kidani!!! A lot of us are owners and will gladly answer any questions you have! As for options at Kidani/Jambo - there are many. Who will be travelling? There are the pools, at Kidani, there is the community hall, the library, viewing area's, daily activities. At Jambo you have all the same, but there is also the culinary tour and other things to do. In both lobbies at the check - in desk there is an activities board, you'll find everything that is going on with the times/place. There are also the sunrise/sunset safari tours. Hope some of this helps and again, if you have any other questions, ask away!!
