Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in march?

Do you think Seven Dwarfs Mine Train could have a soft opening for the week of March 16th?
I really want to see it!

I am here now and I would highly doubt it. I was hoping they might before we leave (March 7), but it looks like they are so close yet so far away!

I would not gamble on a March soft opening. The media event is scheduled on 4/30/14, so early to mid-April seems more realistic. I've also heard that Disney wants the coaster open in time for the Easter week crowds.

March 20th is my last day at WDW. I hope they make a soft opening at least that day ....

I am hoping for a late March soft opening, based on the fact that they soft opened the new Fantasyland Oct 12 with a media event date of Dec 5. So media event date for SDMT is April 30, so hoping for late March.

With soft openings there is no announcement. You have to go past the attraction and find it open. And, the ride can open and then closed several times in a day. It may also open just for a couple of hours and then close for the rest of the day. Soft openings are all about testing the ride, testing operation and loafing procedures and training the staff.

They did open LM Oct 12 but that's because it was ready. They will have soft openings before the press event and official opening but given the pictures and video available, March 16 might be a bit hopeful.

Oh! You mean the week BEFORE Easter? We are there then. It would be great if it were open then!

Yes, I meant the week before Easter. The 2nd busiest week of the year at Disney when many of the schools in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic take their spring breaks. It should be noted that some school districts have cancelled spring break due to all the snow days this year so they can still finish in mid-June. WDW will still be PACKED the week before and the week after Easter.

They were testing it last night with weights in the seats. The seats (logs) moved side to side independent of the coaster frame. Looked fun!
