Settle a bet and vote, please! (fluff thread. LOL)

Choose one:

  • I do have/use a dressy comforter for daytime, and a different one for sleeping.

  • I use the same comforter when I make the bed and then use it for sleeping.

  • I sleep in a hammock (or bathtub or sleeping bag) and don't need a comforter. ;)

  • Other (gotta have this option!)

Do you have/use a "dressy" comforter that you put on when you make your bed and then take off when you're ready to go to sleep? And for sleeping, you use a different comforter or blanket?

Whether you usually make your bed or not, vote and say whether you have a "dressy" comforter or not. Thanks!!! popcorn::

We have a comforter, but it serves the function of a blanket - in other words, we don't remove it when we sleep :)

We have a blanket and a comforter. We mostly just use the blanket and sometimes pull the comforter all the way up to "dress" the bed. Most of the time it stays folded at the end. Sometimes, if it's really cold, we will use it in addition to the blanket. No, we never sleep in a hammock or bath tub.

I voted that I use the same for sleeping and for making the bed, because we do. :)

I use the same comforter, but my grandmother has a bedspread for her bed.

A bedspread is not something you sleep under. A comforter is a heavy blanket you do sleep under. There was a topic a long time ago about the use of a bedspread vs comforter vs duvet. It might help settle your debate.

Typically, a bedspread is what you find on hotel beds, and take it off before going to bed.

We don't have a comforter or a bedspread. Just a sheet and a blanket.

We use the same, but the pillows are another thing. I lost that battle, and still don't understand it.

We have a comforter for looks only. My husband has his blanket and I have my quilt. I couldn't stand the nightly tug-o-war. :thumbsup2

I have a quilt that I use as both bedspread and blanket if it gets cold enough. If not I pull off the quilt and use a well-worn much loved blanket.

Dressy mortar seems like a waste of effort and energy; as tempting as the idea of sleeping in a hammock is (and I'm not totally dismissing it), no, just one comforter per season. Two if it's really cold - but at the same time.

Although in the interest of full disclosure, I think I've made it to bed once in the last two weeks. The living room sofa I've been falling asleep on just has some throws. I don't want to make it too cozy :).
