Setting a NEW YEARS DAY mini-goal?

Is anyone interested in joining me in a New Years Day mini-goal? The next couple of months are going to be difficult and I need something to keep me on track!! I know that the Onederland by Christmas goal has been very inspiring to those signed up to that.

I believe that it is 9 weeks today until the start of 2004 - and I would like to shoot for 20lb by then! I am hoping that having a mini-goal in mind will help keep me on program through all the temptations of the holiday season!

I realise that there is the Thanksgiving Challenge which I intend to sign up for too - but I want to focus on a longer goal to getting me through the holiday and ready for a great start to the NEW YEAR! Perhaps others would prefer to join in after their Thanksgiving goal - there will still be plenty of time then!

The weigh-in day for this goal would probably be the Thursday.
Hope a few people will keep me company in this - because there are so many temptations ahead I know it will be a tough one,

I'll join you Claire. I am just finishing the TOT challenge and then I'm going to be doing the Thanksgiving challenge, so when the turkey challenge is finished I will gladly do a New Year challenge with you. I find that these challenges really help me to stay motivated plus it breaks my weight loss down into smaller goals.

I'll join in! I haven't really thought of what my goal will be just yet, but I'm game. Sign me up and I'll commit to a goal soon! Thanks for spurring us on!

I was just looking at the calendar this morning and counting the weeks until New Years. I have 15 pounds to go until I reach my WW goal.

15 pounds in 9 weeks is doable, but there are a lot of temptations in between.

So I'm with you on this. I'm doing the Thanksgiving challenge, but I can do that and focus on New Years at the same time.

I'll join up too!

I originally sgned up for the Onderland by Spring, but it looks like I might hit that earlier than planned! :)

I think I'll aim for 15 lbs by New Year's Day (but I might make that 20 lbs if things are going well by the beginning of December!)

I'm definitely interested but will wait until after the Thanksgiving Day challenge to figure out my goal for New Year's. I hope someone will design a cool clippie for this challenge - maybe with fireworks or noisemakers & hats?? For some reason, clip art seems to motivate me....LOL!!

I'm in. I've also joined up for the thanksgiving challange so i want to wait to finish that before i set a goal for new years.

I think in 9 weeks (wow that's not long!) that I can lose 16 pounds. I want to be at 169 or really anywhere in the 160's!!! :) But I'll shoot for 169 and hope that the weather's good until then so I can keep up my walking. I'm shooting for 179 by Thanksgiving so that gives me about 5 weeks to lose those last 10 pounds- then I can realistically shoot for my goal of the 140's!! :) YIPPEE!!! Thanks for making the effort to get us motivated!

Tara

Oops! Posted this by accident on this thread thinking I had started a new thread- maybe you lose some of your mind as you lose the weight???? :)

As I was doing my way too early walk this morning (thank you Sun for being up though!) I began to notice little things and thought I would try and start a F.I.T. Affirmation Day every month as we go on this amazing journey to stay healthy.

F.I.T. Finding Interesting Things to celebrate about our losing weight and feeling great!!! Here are my two for this month....

1. When I walk my forearms are not bumping my hips anymore!!!

2. My bras actually CAN lift and SEPARATE now!!!! :)

Come on let's hear your affirming interesting things you've noticed this month!! And pay attention- don't let those little "Oh I never noticed that before" moments slip away- they're little tokens of affirmation that YES YOU ARE A LOSER AND A WINNER at the same time!!! :)

ONWARDS & DOWNWARDS GANG!!!

Tara

I'm in too. I'm aiming for 170 at New Years. That is 18lbs away right now so that might be a bit much but I'm going to try anyway. I'll be happy no matter what I lose and I'll be thankful that I am starting a new year healthier than the last.

I'd like to get in on this, too. I think 20 lbs. by New Year's is doable (but I'll have to shoot for the 28th of Dec. since that's when we leave for our cruise!). I think this is just the inspiration I need - thanks for getting this started!

See you all next Thursday!

I would like to join in too. I'm doing the thanksgiving challenge and I set that goal for five pounds. I think I'll add 7 pounds to that for a total of 12 pounds by New Years.

I'm in! I was just thinking of this challenge this morning!

I'm working on a clippie right now, I'll have it posted soon! :)

Christiana

Argh, I have the clippie on imagestation.com but I have no idea how to post it! Can someone help?

It worked, here it is! What do you guys think??

OK count me in. I would like to lose 20 pounds by New Years!! I am including the amount that I have in the T'Giving challenge. So in other words....20 pounds from now until New Years.I will put the clippie on at a later date.

Count me in! I need a mini-goal! I will lose 12lbs by New Years! I hope to gain an exercise routine by then too. Good Luck all!:sunny:

My New Year's goal will be to lose 20lbs, this includes 10lbs that I plan to lose for the turkey challenge. We have a 14 day trip to WDW at the beginning of Dec. so hopefully this challenge will keep me on the straight and narrow ::yes::

Hello Everyone

Thanks so much to everyone who has signed up to do the New Year Challenge with me!! I know that I am going to need a lot of support to stick with the program through the holiday temptations ahead and having you guys to help will be wonderful!!

Hopefully everyone can check-in with how they are doing on Thursdays (or if you prefer your nearest normal weigh-in day) and we can celebrate and support each other as we go on!!

Thanks so much to disnygoof Christiana for making us a clippie!

Anyone else who wishes to sign up please do! If I have missed you from the list or made a mistake with the amount you aim to loose let me know!
Onwards & Downwards,
Claire:wave:
