Anyone ever been to a Sesame Street Live show? We are going this coming Thursday. Of course, the Rolling Stones are also playing in the area the same night, so I am sure that traffic is going to be TONS of fun......

We took DD when she was about 18 months. She loves Elmo. The show was cute, the did an Elmo's world part lots of singing. Ava would get up and walk up and down the stairs a little, but she was really young to take.

Be prepared though at the middle of the show in Chicago they came out with ballons ($5 and $10) (during intermission) in the theater. ALL the kids wanted one (DD was young enough to be distracted easy)

Enjoy! You sure your little one wouldn't prefer the Stones?

We took Paul when he was about 22 months old and he LOVED it! He was dancing in his seat the whole time. It really was lots of fun! He was just mesmerized by the whole thing and never lost interest in it at all. I thought he was going to pass out just from the sheer joy of seeing Elmo "in person". And, yep, we did get suckered into one of those balloons. :rotfl:

We took the little guy when he was almost two, and we should have known better. A few months earlier we had been at lunch at Red Robin (a burger joint) where a large red robin walks out into the dining area for the kids. I didn't see the character enter the room, but I did note my kids eyes go wider than I've ever seen, his mouth fly open but not a sound emerge, and saw him begin to shake rather noticably. I glanced where he was looking, and realized pretty quickly what was freaking him out... Needless to say, he and I headed to the car while DM got our food packed up.

Fast forward a few months and Sesame Street is in town. I have a friend who was with the show and she called to tell us she had left tickets at the Box Office for us. Second Row. We started to walk to our seats when Elmo came out to make an announcement. While our little guy wasn't displaying quite the same level of abject fear, it was pretty clear that he had no intention of getting closer. As such, we wound up watching the show from the back of the balcony in a completely deserted section. From that distance, Elmo appeared to be approximately two inches tall...

At age three he was still troubled by Orbit, our minor league baseball mascot, but by age four he had become an a member of the fan club and would drag my DW or myself around the ballpark to catch up with him. My kid had become an Orbit stalker. Finally, two weeks ago that he got comfortable with the giant pizza slice which walked around, after realizing it was just guy dressed up in a funny outfit.

Servants of Evan (Mr. Orbit Stalker).

(Avoided the balloon, but got the flashlight)

I've been twice. Once when my DS#1 was 20mths, and we all went again when DS#2 was about the same age. We loved it. The first time, Aidan and I were far from the stage, and he liked it, but at that age, I think it was hard for him to get really into it that far-- but he sat still the first time, so he must have liked it. The second time, I got tix right away (presale)-- and we had the front row. It was great, the kids loved it, and all of the characters made there way over at one point or another and gave the boys hugs. It was alot of fun!!!!! We've also done Blues Clues Live with DS#1, which he really enjoyed!!! Have fun!!!!

We went last year when our kids were 2 and 4. I didn't know if they would even be able to sit through it but they were mesmerized. I thought it was very cute and enjoyable. My kids were not really even "into" Sesame Street at the time but now they are, ever since they saw the show.
For some reason I hadn't been expecting all the "stuff" that was being sold. The souveniers were really expensive IMO--definitely WDW-level prices, like $15 for a light spinner and $10 for a tiny beanie-size Elmo. They sold Elmo balloons for $8 during intermission. Luckily they also sold popcorn and lemonade so my kids were satisfied with the snack and didn't demand souvenirs!
