I was just curious and this may have come up before, but has anyone ever ventured with a GC down the road past the group camping tent area that has the sign do not enter cast members only? When we are at the fort, my nightly ritual after the kids go to sleep is to do my nightly looping. I have been temped many times to just go for it and see if the road ends up by the stables. Just curious and I'm sure somebody has done it. If it does go back to the stables, they should have it open to carts since it would be a nice ride and a shortcut for people staying in the cabins. Has anyone been stopped?

i think it intersects the road that runs from the stables to the wilderness lidge. the buses use it., i am not 100 percent sure but i think that is what it is

I have access but I'm not clear on what road you're refering to. Can you add anything to make it clearer to me? I'll check it out and let you know.

Once my GPS led me astray and they let me take that road back from Wilderness Lodge over to the Fort

We ran that road every night it goes to a T if you turn right it takes you back to the fort by the horse barn turn left take you to the Wilderness Lodge. We did it about 12-1am every night just to look at the Deer. It also leads to the fitness trail

Correct. I have bicycled the road many times.

We've biked it & also driven it to get to WL. I'm not sure if it still goes this way, but the Purple route used to use it to get to the Settlement bus stop from the group camp area.

Bobby says this road is getting too popular with fiends. He is now placing IED's.

I once saw a guy on a Gator themed cart down that road. I hear the bus drivers call security when they see you down there. Of course when the cart goes faster than security it's not a problem.

Just so everyone is clear, here's a map showing the location of the road in question:

FrontierWay-1.jpg

The road that the OP is asking about is Frontier Way.

Way back in the day, I was staying in the group camping area on a camp-out with the Indian Princesses with my oldest DD. This was before there were aerial photographs of the Fort available on-line. I drove the TCD bike with my DD riding behind in a bike trailer right down that road in broad daylight. Buses were driving back and forth on the road. I don't think I made it half-way before I was pulled over by a security van. I haven't tried it since.

There really is nothing to see down this road. If you want to see for yourself, ride the purple bus route. It will take you right down this road. It's just a bunch of trees.

Nothing to see here folks.

TCD

TCD is correct. There's really nothing on that road except trees and swamp that were torn up by the hurricanes. The excercise trail however which goes from the barn area to Wilderness lodge is a nice paved road with shade over most of it. Just after Frontier Way there is a dirt road that cuts over to Bay Lake. If you follow that to the left it takes you to WL and to the right it goes behind the old River Country.

ETA: If you look at the pic TCD posted it says W Wilderness Way. Right along the water above those words you can see the trail between the 2 places I mentioned.
