Servers, asst. servers and room stewards?

Does anyone know if room stewards are always assigned to the same rooms or do they rotate? If I am staying in the same cabin this year as last and the steward is still on the ship are the chances good we would have the same steward? Also, out of curiousity, do the servers and asst. servers always stay as a team or do the switch around every now and then.

I don't know the answer to your question concerning the room stewards. I would expect that they would switch around, just for variety's sake, but have never thought to ask. I would be interested to hear if someone knows, though.

Regarding the servers, I believe that the assistant servers are being groomed to become servers, as I've often seen former assistants that we had working as servers themselves. I think that an assistant will work with serveral different servers just to get a feel for the different styles. This last is just a guess, though.

I assumed they would switch around also. It's one of those just curious questions you come up with as you count the days til you get back on the ship. I just thought that since so many are repeat cruisers and stay in the same cabin someone might have noticed.

We sailed on the Innagural Western in 8066. Fermin was our room host. A saint in training with my messy DS. We returned this year to do the Eastern in 8042 and guess who showed up??? Fermin!!!!!!! We were so delighted!!! He told us that they always work the same section of rooms. So if you're in the same stateroom, chances are you'll have the same person.


Can't wait to book again!!!!

We were in room 8590 in December 01 and in the same room in December 02 . Our first year we had Kate from Hungary. The next year we had Alan from the Phillipines.

I asked around and found that Kate was still on the boat but working another deck. I was told that people switched around for various reasons (vacation, end of contract, etc.)

Don't know how common this is, but it was our experience.
