How do I decide which resort to buy into. I want to try them all but I recently stayed at the BWV's and love ebeing so close to the parks. The only other resort that close to two parks is the BCV's and I live in New England. Should I buy into the BWV's since I know I like it and I'll have the home advantage ?

If you really like it there, will want to spend most of your vacations there, and will be able to make most of your reservations more than 7 months in advance, yes -you should buy there! The only reason I could see that you wouldn't want to buy there at this point is if you can't make your ressies more than 7 months out - then the 11 month booking window won't help you! :flower:

I say, buy where you want to stay. You can book it at the 11month window instead of the 7 month window. The only regret I have is not buying sooner. Good Luck

if you don't need DVC financing only available with SSR.

You can find what you want with a resaler. remember the dvc resales are as is - they can't be changed. example - if you want say 170 points - but what is available is 150 or 200 points - you have to take what you can find.

then you resale contract must pass DVC ROFR (right of first refusal). so after you have done the work found the contract you want, agreed on a price and send the contract back - DVC can still take it away from you, if in their opinion the price is too low.

they actually took a 25 point contract for $80 back on OKW. this is really unbelieveable because I though that OKW buy back point was $75.

so it is very hard to predict when DVC will buy back one.

if you plan to buy BWV or BCV from DVC sorry you must go resale.

We live in New England also. We have stayed at BWV 2X, SSR 2X and are staying at VWL in Jan. We own at SSR and I really love the location of BWV but I found myself just as satisfied at my room at SSR last week. We loved the boat from DTD. Each resort offers different things. My son and daughter-in-law actually bought at SSR last week also. Now I have visions of combining points and staying in the GV. Good lugk with your decision.

I liked being able to walk to MGM and epcot, I did not like the small boats that they use from the wilderness lodge, I got sick last time. And SS looks great as does OKW but we only spent a few hrs at DTD and probably won't be spending much time there til our kids are older.

We were like you when we decide to buy earlier this year, we love the BWV and BCV location and the resorts but didn't have a problem with any others so didn't know if we should get the better deal and more years at SSR or buy where we wanted to stayed. We tried to think about how we would be planning vacations in the future. After thinking about it we decided to buy at BCV because in the future with kids being in school and knowing how much the kids will like stormalong bay the pool we knew we would have to start booking vacations much earlier than we do now and wanted the 11 month booking window at BCV.
Also, we knew we would want more than the min 150 so we decided to buy at 2 resorts, thus getting the location we wanted at BVC and taking advantage of the savings and extra years at SSR.
Good luck and Let us know what resort you finally go with!!!

You can get Disney financing when buying points at any resort as long as you buy through DVC.

yes but I though the other resorts were completely sold out?

people are on waiting list for the BCV.

Depends on the resort, I guess. I've always heard that points at BCV are hard to come by. I have two contracts at VWL, which I bought this year, and I didn't have to wait even a day for them. I got all the points I wanted right when I called.

My thought would be buy the cheapest one and stay at the most expensive one :rotfl2: seems like the only way to beat the system or feel like ya did.

Course if what you really want is a BWV Standard View Room during F&W, you are only going to get that if you have the home resort booking window. At seven months "points is points" but there are a lot more owners looking for availability at the resorts and much of the resort already booked with home resort points.
