My kids had off the week after Easter off & I wanted to know how the crowds, waits, & weather was during that time. Just like to plan for next year if we can go at that time..I always read horror stories on the DIS about Easter so anyone who just went this year..how was it?

We went the week before Easter. It wasn't really that bad. Tips that helped us:
1) Go at the opening of the park. EMH was 7am at MK! Go on your favorite rides then.
2) Get Fastpasses
3) Go on rides during the parades/fireworks. There were two parades and a fireworks so that helped alot!
4) Make ADRs for the restaurants

So if the line for a ride seemed too long, we used one of the above techniques to help. We never stayed in line more than 30 min.

The weather was mostly that you could wear shorts, but it would get a bit chilly early in the morning and later at night. It only rained one day.

We were there from the 14th to 23rd. The parks were crowded, but we managed to do everything we wanted. The worst day was the EMH morning at the AK. There was absolutely no attempt to only allow disney resort guests to enter the park. The entry lines at 7:05 were huge, and the park was packed. But even with that, we went to Everest and got a fast pass, rode the safari ride with no wait, went in tough to be a bug waiting just for one show, got a fast pass for dinosaur, used the fast pass for everest, got something to eat, rode dinosaur, got a fast pass for kali river rapids, rode the train to rafiki's place, came back rode kali and left. On the EMH morning for MK we got there at 7 and the park was empty. It was great. We did all we wanted and more and were done by 12. Left and came back at night for the fireworks. All in all I think the only time we ever waited in a line for more than 10 minutes was waiting for the lights motor action show at mgm. We made good use of the morning EMH, which worked fine except at the AK park, that was a real mess. Took breaks every day, had a plan of attack, and had a good time. The weather was sunny and hot, a few showers in the afternoon at the end of the week. All in all a good time.

I was there from 4/19 through 4/24 (week after Easter). The longest I waited in a line was 20 minutes, I rode everything I wanted -sometimes 5+ times, and the parks were not as crowded as last year at this same time.

My only complaint is that the buses were not as frequent as I am used to.

We have friends who went the week before Easter, and had a great time. (I had feared the worst.) They followed the "be there at opening" advice and the simple touring plans in the Passporter Guide and didn't have too much trouble with lines.

Apparently Florida schools had spring break after Easter, while many others had it before, and that split seems to have helped prevent the worst crowds.
