Seriously, did anyone get Hip tickets?

I have friends who got some. I think Hamilton and Toronto - not through scalpers. But all through pre-sales (not today).

Apparently several thousand "resellers" (with 2200 tickets available online for the Toronto shows according to the Star). Think best hope in seeing without contributing to the ticketing farce in buying "resold" tickets is they broadcasting the last show of the tour.

I find the whole thing so disgusting. There have always been scalpers but nothing like the mess of trying to get tickets today. The powers that be have got to come up with some sort of solution. It's out of control.

I didn't even try but was lucky enough to see them last year at Ottawa Bluesfest. I know a ton of people who tried today to get Victoria and Ottawa tickets and none of them were able to.

Unfortunately the technology that makes it easy for anyone to buy without effort from our desks makes it easy for savvy people to quickly dominate a ticket sale through the same means but only in a highly visible means. It was no different in the old days of people paying others to stand in line to buy tickets for resale only today, it all happens online in minutes or seconds with those same tickets online for resale in minutes as well. Where it used to be illegal to scalp tickets, like Uber and may other online businesses, the resale market is openly supported by big business backers to legitimatize the practise to the chagrin of all trying to get tickets for themselves. Boy I feel old and cranky complaining...let me tighten my bow-tie (or is that my belt)?

Yep! Got Toronto and London tickets (hubby's going to London with one friend, I'm going to Toronto with another). The shows aren't sold out, though, right? They only sold out the pre-sale and more will be sold in the general sale?

No they're sold out. Unless you want so-called 'premium' tickets. For that read $$$$)

Of course you can buy through StubHub at 2-10x the value... Oh yeah & in USD...

I tried both pre sale and today. Struck out both times. I was trying for the concert in Kingston.

I tried the pre-sale and today for Ottawa and Winnipeg (just so happens we`re there for that weekend) no luck. If someone had explained what the ticket resellers do to get the tickets so quickly I never would have even attempted it. Apparently everyone who lined up in Ottawa at the CTC was able to get tickets even though it was sold out online within minutes. We could get tickets through the resellers but I flat out refuse to do that ever!

I was so bummed about the whole thing I spent the afternoon tweeking my touring plans and looking at menus for the places we want to eat at Disney(and I`m not going until December).

When unhappy I go to my happy place! (in my mind anyway)

I'm not a Hip fan, but a friend of mine who is the biggest Hip fan I know was not able to get any tickets to any of the Toronto shows, or Hamilton. :sad1: She tried during the presale and today. This whole scalper fiasco around this tour is just disgusting.

No, not impressed. Myself and a coworker were trying presale day, with the Amex front of the line day and yesterday. Neither of us had luck to get tickets. By end of the day we'd chatted with a few other coworkers who had all tried without luck either. Of course as long as there are people willing to pay the scalpers, which there still are things like this can continue.

Friends had 2 extra tickets from the presale for the London show. Bought them at face value. I'm with most of you - we wouldn't play into the scalpers' hands. Here's hoping that Gord will be ok to do this tour.

My DF died of a brain tumour at 46. I helped my DM care for him for the last 2 years of his life, so those profiting off of his illness has raked up all kinds of emotions for me. So grateful to be able to see them one last time.

I had a very similar situation trying to get Drake tickets for my DD. First Toronto shows were sold out in minutes. She was crushed. I told her that most likely more shows would be added....I'm mean come on it's his home town and only 2 shows when other cities were having 4 shows. So they add two more shows for October. There was no presale at all even though Drake's social media said there was. Anyway, I ended up taking the morning off work to stay home and try for tickets. I had 2 IPads, 2 IPhones and a laptop all trying for tickets. It took 20 minutes before 1 pair of tickets popped up and they were about as far away from the stage as you could get. I bought them and kept trying for another 10 minutes but nothing else came up. Just after I completed my purchase seats in the same section and the one beside it started showing up as resale for over $1300 each on Ticketmaster. Face value is $89.50. I haven't even looked at Stubhub.

As far as getting Hip tickets just keep a close watch. ALL venues hold back tickets to sell at a later date. They are often among the better seats. They do not inflate the price, they are still the same as if you had bought them the day they went on sale. This is done to stir up hype on the show again. Also, there are often same day seats available at the venue box office. Those seats are seats that have been held back by the artist and are not going to be used by them for guests. To get these ones you have to physically be at the box office the morning of the show and may need to hang around for a few hours.

Tried on 2 different computers at the same time for Ottawa. No luck. Saw them a few years back and the show was amazing.

It's a sad thing :-(

I tried getting Adelle tix. My friend was online the moment sales opened and all but the most $$$ tix were gone. So sad these low life bottom of the pond people are trying to capitalize on their farewell tour. Discusting.

Someone on stubhub has ONE ticket posted for the Kingston show for 14,600$ As a Kingston girl born and raised it makes me sick to see people take advantage of the situation as they have. We are planning a big block party!
