Hi all, our trip is getting close so planning has gone into overdrive! I was wondering if any of you guys could answer any of these questions for me? We are staying a SQL GF in December, it's been over ten years since I last stayed there and didn't drive there then so I was wondering;

1. Is there somewhere that you can pull up and hubby can offload me and the kids plus cases then go and park up?

2. Are there any luggage trolley things or staff to help with getting stuff to your room?

3. We may arrive before check in - if so is there a luggage room? Or do you have to leave your stuff in the car?

4. If we do arrive before 3pm can we use the pool? It the GF lounge?

5. What's the story with beaver creek tavern!? Is it closed? I would really like to eat there in the first night

6. Is there any seating around the pool incase it's too cold for the baby and we have to tag team!?Also are there any baby change facilities in the pool building? Also does that waterfall thingy work now?

7. There used to be a steam room and sauna in the changing rooms - is that still the case?

8. Is there a gym? Or does anyone have a running route that's a bit more imaginative than just round the lake ;) (not for me for hubbs! Walking round the parks is enough exercise for me lol!)

9. Is there a childrens playground anywhere on site like at Santa Fe and Cheyenne?

10. And finally! (Thanks if you're still reading!) anyone know when the work on the bridge/path between the hotel and hotel New York is due to finish?

Thanks so much! :)

I think you just hop off at the entrance.

2. Are there any luggage trolley things or staff to help with getting stuff to your room?

When we stayed there, you were on your own with your bags. I know HNY and DLH provide this service.

3. We may arrive before check in - if so is there a luggage room? Or do you have to leave your stuff in the car?

There luggage room just outside the main entrance where you can leave your bags.

4. If we do arrive before 3pm can we use the pool? It the GF lounge?

5. What's the story with beaver creek tavern!? Is it closed? I would really like to eat there in the first night

Well, we didn't like the pool as it was too cold, too dark...

4. If we do arrive before 3pm can we use the pool? It the GF lounge?

I think so, as I think they can give you all of your paperwork when you check-in (which you can do before 3pm, it's just that your room won't be ready until then) and it's your easy pass that you need to get in to the pool

5. What's the story with beaver creek tavern!? Is it closed? I would really like to eat there in the first night

Yep, it's closed :( I asked the reservation line if we could eat there and they said it's not open so we chose Hunter's Grill instead.

6. Is there any seating around the pool incase it's too cold for the baby and we have to tag team!?Also are there any baby change facilities in the pool building? Also does that waterfall thingy work now?

There are seats around the pool, and the waterfall worked in September 2012, not sure about now! Don't know about baby change though, sorry.

7. There used to be a steam room and sauna in the changing rooms - is that still the case?

Again, they were there in 2012!

8. Is there a gym? Or does anyone have a running route that's a bit more imaginative than just round the lake ;) (not for me for hubbs! Walking round the parks is enough exercise for me lol!)

I'm pretty sure there isn't a gym (though I could be wrong as I have never tried to find one!)

9. Is there a childrens playground anywhere on site like at Santa Fe and Cheyenne?

Nope! There's a little area next to where the characters currently do their little morning meets, but it's just a few chairs and blocks if I remember rightly.

I've answered in red, hope I haven't got anything wrong! :good vibes

EDIT: sorry Isila, you must have replied as I was writing my answers so I think we might have crossed over a bit!

Yes, just by the entrance

2. Are there any luggage trolley things or staff to help with getting stuff to your room?
As you are staying at GF you can leave your luggage in their seperate luggage room and it will be bought to your room once it is ready.

3. We may arrive before check in - if so is there a luggage room? Or do you have to leave your stuff in the car?

See above

4. If we do arrive before 3pm can we use the pool? It the GF lounge?

Yes to both, you will get your tickets and easy pass which give you entrance to both

5. What's the story with beaver creek tavern!? Is it closed? I would really like to eat there in the first night

I have never seen it open for the last few years so not sure i'm afraid. But I can really recommend the buffet at Hunters Grill:thumbsu
p2

6. Is there any seating around the pool incase it's too cold for the baby and we have to tag team!?Also are there any baby change facilities in the pool building? Also does that waterfall thingy work now?

yes to all. There are chairs above the pool if you dont want to get changed and go there and if you are changed there are sunloungers and a baby splash pool too.Y

7. There used to be a steam room and sauna in the changing rooms - is that still the case?

Yes :)

Sorry, I'm with you and find the walking is exercise enough:lmao::lmao:

9. Is there a childrens playground anywhere on site like at Santa Fe and Cheyenne?

Only a really small one but my son alwasy loved walking around the trees and playing on the paths.

10. And finally! (Thanks if you're still reading!) anyone know when the work on the bridge/path between the hotel and hotel New York is due to finish?

I am not sure but it is all still accesible - there is/was a walkway created to you dont/didn't have to walk via NPB:thumbsup2

Thanks so much! :)

Have a fab time!

Thank you all so much for your replies :) How exciting that our luggage will be taken to the room (it's the simple things! :rotfl:) Also great about the seating round the pool and the splash pool for little ones - I'm surprised they don't list that of the official website!

Such a shame about Beaver Creek - I've never had a bad meal there and I was looking forward to it but we will have to give Hunters Grill a go instead :)

Its worth remember that the Golden Forest check-in is tucked away around a corner. I have read quite a few TRs and reviews of people who have stood in the long queue for normal check in before being told they were in the wrong one!;)

Have a fab time x

Hi there,

Just thought I'd chime in on question 8, yes there 100% is definitely a gym. I used it last time we went. It's in the same building as the pool, and is actually a bit bigger than the gym at Hotel New York if I remember correctly.

Also just to say we LOVE Sequoia :)

HTH :goodvibes

Thanks both :) hubby will be pleased with the gym and great tip about the GF checkin because I would have just got in the main queue!
