sequoia lodge contact - 12 days to go!!!

hi guys, sorry for my prolonged absence, what with work and the festive period, things have been more than hectic!!!

only 12 days until our girly trip to sequoia lodge, and i have just a few wee queries...

I want to contact the sequoia to see if it will be possible to check in early on the day of arrival - around about 11am - does anyone know if there is a contact email address for the sequoia lodge specifically?

also, we are going into paris on wednesday the 16th jan (we think...) and we'd like ANY advice on how to get in, where to go, nice restaurants and shops (window shopping ), anything at all would be fabulous!!

thought it would be worthwhile to let you know - because of all the problems we've had with this booking (money taken out really early, then put back in my account, then not getting taking out, arghhh) that we managed to get vip fastpasses, upgrade to a montana room and a character tea party...not too shabby! proof that complaining can pay off, even a little.

also, would like some recommendations for what to do at night time, and/or what restaurants to try out in la vallee, seeing as the park is closing at 6? thanks everyone, and happy new year!!

When we stayed at sequoia lodge in November it was around abou 1pm we could check in, put in our slots for breakfasts and get our park tickets etc but the rooms arent usually ready till 3pm (although on some occasions they do let them out earlier.

You are able to leave your luggage in the left luggage area and collect when you decide to come back and then your room will be available.

When we went in October we were at the Sequoia Lodge before 9 in the morning and checked in straight away. We got our Hotel Pass so we could go in for EMH or use the pool if we wanted. Also we were able to start charging purchases to our room. We booked our breakfast times then as well. The only thing we couldn't do was get our room key - that is not available until 3 pm.

When we went 2 weeks ago we go there about 10 in the morning and again there was no trouble checking in straight away. I think they actually prefer it, otherwise they could have several hundred people all checking in at 3pm. There is a place to collect your key from later on - you don't have to queue again at the check-in counter.

Yes we stayed at the Sequoia Lodge last May. The night before we stayed at the Golf Hotel, just outside the park and then travelled to the Lodge at 8am the day of our booking.

We were given our park tickets as well as the meal vouchers and other info but couldn't get our room key until 3pm. So we were off to the park at 8.30am for the EMH.

Best way to get in is by RER from Station. You could get off at Auber which is right next to Galeries Lafeyette and Printemps- wonderful department stores and fantastic view from top floor.

Alternatively get off at Etoile and walk down Champs Elysee- again lots of wonderful shops to look at. This will take you down to Place de la Concorde and Jardin des Tuileries. Alongside the gardens on Rue de Rivoli is Angelinas- tea rooms which serves the best hot chocolate in the world and lovely cakes as well. (See our summer trip report for photos)

You could walk from here up through the grounds of the Louvre towards Notre Dame.

There are some lovely cheap restaurants in the Latin Quarter (Left bank) near St Michel metro station just across the river from Notre Dame.

I know there is a lot of walking involved but its much better to see Paris by walking if possible.

Another good option to get around is by river- either take a trip on a bateau mouche which will give a commentary on the sights or take a batobus (literally boat bus) which allows you to get on and off. You could get off at Eiffel Tower if you want to explore this area.
However in my opinion the best views of the Eiffel Tower are from a distance- the view from Trocadero is wonderful. Either walk up from Eiffel Tower or get metro there and tyen walk down towards the Tower.

The metro is really easy to use and you can pick up maps at the station or look on teh website before you go to get an idea of where the stations are which link to getting back to DLP

thanks for all the help guys, this is wonderful! I think getting off at Etoile may be a good idea, my friend wants to do a bus tour, but I don't know if there actually are any in Paris - and I'd enjoy walking the 'rues de Paris' (or something grammatically correct!)

and of course, the all-important question...has anyone tried out the tower of terror....eeek?! I love rollercoasters, but this looks like nothing I've tried before!

I've booked today for March for my wife, my 2 sons, my daughter in law & my 3 Grandkids aged 2, 3 and 14. I am so excited about it but I was wondering if anyone has travelled by Eurostar, with a call off at Lille? Is this much of an inconvenience, and does it mean that you cannot use the luggage transfer service?

Also, is everything fully understandable in English? Has anyone done Buffallo Bills? Is this in English and will my younger grandkids get anything out of it?

Hi there, we changed at Lille when we travelling to DLP on 26th December, read my trip report here to see how it was for us. Last Easter we changed coming home, and that wasn't such a good experience, changing on the outward journey did not seem so bad though.

Sorry, can't help you with Buffalo Bills, as we have never done that.

We did Buffalo Bills, I think part was in english and part in french. I would say the show was good. Unsure of the meals, I don't think the kids meal was very kid friendly at all. I guess if you like that sort of food then it is ok, but I did it once glad i did but wouldnt fork out for it again.

We also had a problem with payments last Easter and managed to get Free Buffalo Bills visit and VIP FPs. As you say proof that complaining can pay off sometimes.

Meant to say Wendybird7 when we were given VIP fastpasses the hotel didnt know anything about it when we booked in - the voucher for Buffalo Bills was with hotel pass etc but no VIP FPs. When we asked they said we didnt get them at that hotel however we had the Email with us that said Disney were giving them to us so she went into a back office and came back with some so if you have it in writing they are giving these to you take it with you.
