I'm going to plan a long weekend trip in September. Can anyone tell me when the best time to go is?

Any weekend besides Labor day and you should be set. Low crowds, still hot but not sweltering. Only downside is hurricanes, but you can't plan around them, so go for it!

I have found it gets a tiny bit busier towards the end of the month.

After Labor Day is a good time as others stated. Low crowds , some rides are
walkons with 0 wait times!
