September WISH thread…here’s to a fabulous fall

I am woohoo that I am finally feeling better. The morning right when I wake up is bad but after about 30 minutes I a good. I am also woohoo that counting today I have 3 days of work left before vacation and Friday isn't really work. We are int eh office for an all staff meeting. I am worried about this because I really do not want to be in a room of 150 + people right before I leave for vacation because I don't want to pick anything up but I will just stay in the back for to the side away from as many people as possible.

Thankful that we had a beautiful day for our Administrative Professionals day today. I know the actual day is in April, but we work for a farming cooperative and are just too busy for us all to be gone at the end of April. Every year in September we all go somewhere. Today we went to a place that overlooks the river and has a terrace restaurant, zipline, ATV tours and an alpine coaster. It was so much fun and the weather couldn't have been better!

I'm truly thankful for the day that we had!

Thankful for the ability and means to travel and that everything has gone so well. Only hiccup was arriving at the tour pick up yesterday morning just in the nick of time. Google maps didn’t know where the bus station was so I got directions from the front desk but still ended up getting turned around. I totally expected to see busses at a bus station but they were inside and behind where you enter from the street.

Saw a lot of Scotland during the drive yesterday. Loch Ness was a total surprise, I thought it would be small and wild but is actually so big the wind whipped up whitecaps and there is a town and locks.

I’m meeting up with the group in about half an hour. I am so ready to be with people and to be taken care of. And to be still and learn new things… sketching and painting which I really haven’t done since school. So also thankful for this part of the trip.

Yesterday was my first day in the office and it was a rough one. I took the train in and sat in a seat that someone peed on (they are fabric seats). I got off at the next stop and went back home to take a shower and change. Only to slip and fall in the shower. Thankfully it was not bad. Just a little sore today but my hip that I finally got better is hurting again. I did make it in but it was a long traumatic morning.

Today is my last day of work before vacation. Tonight I will go to the football game and sit in the pouring rain. It will be run. Then it will be packing and cleaning.

Yay! for everyone finally doing better in the house.

Happy Friday! Tonight we are just staying home and watching a movie here. DH isn't feeling the best and we have a family wedding tomorrow - so I'm hoping gets feeling better! It's my cousin's daughter - she's about the same age as my daughters and we lived just down the street from each other when they were all growing up. Should be a fun day tomorrow - I know she'll be a beautiful bride!

What’s on your mind today?

And please raise your wands for Dame Maggie Smith
She is definitely on my mind. 😢
I watched a lot of video clips last night.

We also knew someone else who passed yesterday - not somebody we were close to, but still, a good-hearted person we'd met through family members of his, so we're sad for them.

And of course feeling bad for all the people with hurricane damage as well. - All in all, a gloomy beginning to the weekend.

But today should be better. I'm working a book sale at the library, then going to a fall festival with my cousin and her two little girls. The weather is supposed to be nice for it, and I'm excited to see the kids - the little one just started kindergarten, so I want to hear all about it.

what are you doing (or what have you done) to renew yourself this weekend to get back into the swing Monday?

I spent yesterday with my cousin and her young family, and being around little kids is always renewing (psychologically, at least - I was so tired physically last night 😆 ).

Today I will be working on some organizing here at home - which I'm counting as self care because the current clutter is affecting my attitude!

The “cottage” we’re staying in is absolutely lovely. It is actually two cottages combined into one and walking from one side of the house to the other is a meander. The outlook is beautiful, there’s a pasture with sheep then rolling hills sloping down to a loch.

Yesterday we spent the afternoon at an art studio where they make pigments for paint and ink out of found and foraged things, like rocks. It was such a treat.

We had class this morning and have the afternoon off and are currently gathered around the fire in one of the lounges chatting and crafting. Simply amazing.

I am so glad you are ok!!!

I'm really behind from a busy weekend! One quote I've always loved:

Sunday I didn't end up with much self care - Dh and I were sitting at home and I got a call about 3:00 from my boss offering tickets to the Billy Joel / Sting concert that was happening last night! Billy Joel has always been one of my favorites! They were supposed to perform Friday night and we had a family wedding on Saturday which made us have some obligations for Friday night as well. Their concert got rained out on Friday and rescheduled for Sunday. Our company had been given some tickets for the concert and with the date change, some of the original people who were going to attend couldn't, so we got to!! I was so excited and honestly couldn't believe how the day changed with that one phone call!

Anyway, not relaxing, but super exciting!!
