September vs October

DH and I are going for a long weekend just the two of us. We have in narrowed down to either sept 26-30 or oct 24-28 (both are a sat-Wednesday) Any opinion on if one would be better then the other?

Less chance of rain late Oct, and milder temps. Slightly higher crowds though.

If free dining wasn't an option late Sept, I would probably choose late Oct.

The crowds were heavier the closer it got to Halloween on our trips.

September will be lower crowds, but waaaaaaaay hotter. And during the stormier season. (You may end up with no bad storms at all, but it is during the thick of hurricane season)

October will be a bit more crowded, but cooler and possibly with better weather.

As an aside, my last trip was during the last weeks of October and I LOVED it. So, I might be a bit biased!
