September vs October?

Wanting feedback versus going to Disney on September 26th or October 17? We are trying to avoid the strong heat but still want it to be warm enough to enjoy a water park. We are also trying to avoid love bug season. Also, any feedback on crowd size during either time would be helpful. Thanks!

By going in Sept you can pick up on the free dining, you have to eat while you' re there, might as well do it for free.

Actually we won't be doing the free dining. My husband is a Marine so it works out better for us to do the military deal they are offering.
