I'm set to book our trip Sept. 23-30 at CBR with DH, DD (4). Hubby thinks we should wait until May '07 when DD will be 5. Is it more/less crowded end of Sept or mid-May. Also, is it as hot both months? Thanks. :confused3

I don't know if you are aware of it or not but Disney has a free dining plan promotion during your dates in Sept. It is a great deal. :cool1:

Free dining is going on during your September dates....May will be hotter and more crowded....it will probably be more expensive too!

No, September is hotter than May in Florida. Went to school in the Orlando area, live in Miami Beach. And don't forget the hurricanes in Sept.!

May will be a lot less humid, but the free dining can overrule.

We were at Disney last year from September 17-30 and we never thought it was crowded. Well, it was our first time so we had nothing to base it on, but for instance we arrived at our first park on September 18th at 9.15am - Magic Kingdom on a Sunday! We did so many rides in the first three hours...no queues at all! We were able to ride Splash Mountain twice in a row, and Cinderella's carousel (a must do for 32yr old me!) was almost empty :)

The most we ever queued was 20 minutes and that was for Test Track the second week on an afternoon.

Now...the heat! Oh Lord, the heat! We live in London and found it a bit hard at first to get used to the humidity. But that Disney magic helps you adjust! Plus what a bargain to get free dining as well! I would definitely recommend September, you'll have a fab time :cool1:

September is usually a lot less crowded, but the Free Dining plan is again being offered this year, so a lot of people are now taking trips in September. It's a great deal, though, to be able to eat for free for the duration of your entire trip. I think it's worth the slightly higher crowds and heat!

I recommend going in May. My cousin just went this past May and loved it and thought it was the best time to go. THe weather was beautiful, and the crowds were not too bad.
I went in Septmeber 1999, a spur of the moment trip and it was so HOT! :sunny:
Then we were lucky enough to meet hurricane Floyd. I had heard that this was the first time that the parks closed. It was pretty scary. We were at the Poly, so we were safe but they actually put all the campers at fort wilderness at the contemporary.
The parks closed early, not many of the staff came to work, so it was difficult getting food the first night (we did not have a car) and then the storm was not even that bad and the parks were still closed. All except Ak. So it was you and all your best friends at all the resorts going to that one park. Talk about crowded! So if you ask me May is a safer bet, I know it is a longer wait, but the hurricanes keep coming and I would not want to be there at that time!
