Can anyone tell me how the crowds and weather are immediately after Labor Day. We are thinking of going next year during that time in order to avoid large crowds and hopefully take advantage of discounted accommodations.

There have been a few trip reports this week, and it sounds like crowds have been very light.

The disadavantage is that several attractions go down for refurbishment right after Labor Day, like Haunted Mansion (to put up the holiday overlay) and anything else needing some fixing up after the long hard summer hours.

You might want to read Hydroguy's thread "What you Should Know about Off-Season at DLR: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=18462889

Hope that helps!

I went the Wednesday BEFORE Labor Day, and was surprised at how light the crowds were.

Approximately an hour and a half after opening, there was NO line in Mickey's house, which I've never experienced before. I will probably be going this Tuesday and expect similar low crowds.

Sounds great! I will have to look through the trip reports as they come in and I will definitely look for Hydroguy's tips.:thumbsup2

went wed. and yesterday...and it was awesome...perfect time to go but it opens late-closes early, Fantasmic is down till Nov., fireworks on weekend only but crowds were nothing

We just got back today and boy the past week the crowds were so light. On Thursday it was a 5 minute wait for space all day even at night... so cool. We were even able to ride Toy Story 2 times in the morning. The wait was only 20 minutes or so it said but I think more like 10. I would go this time again the crowds are light and the weather is great.

Thanks again. I think that we can live with some of the rehabs in order to take advantage of the the lighter crowds. From what I have read, May is also a good month.

Disneygeek.com has many pics from 9/5 including a couple of the line board. Check out his pics. Looks empty!!!

We went last year the week after Labor Day. The crowds were really pretty nice. It was still very hot but we heard that it had been an unusual year. Even still, it made riding the water rides just that much more fun!

I am going for a quick trip on Wed (the 10th), so I will be sure to snap some pics of the board, the crowds, etc. I'll let you know how it goes!
