Just for folks' information, here is the content of the letter I received. I originally had a free dining offer for early September, which was at the very end of the window.

Free dining was cancelled since there are no dining plans.
I received the 35% discount "for the resort portion."
Park Hopper was listed as part of the package and no one at Disney can seem to tell me if this can be refunded. Park Hopper seems to historically have been a mandatory add on to free dining offers to water down the value of the discount. It may be for the "recovery packages" even if there is no utility under a park reservation system.

Same exact situation here. Booked Swpt. 7th, free dining package. 35 percent discount on hotel and no word on exchanges for park hoppers which i would like to switch for one park a day.

I still have a hard time figuring out if my total is right after the 35%. After they dropped FD and left the PH it still looks awfully expensive to me.

Reservation at Pop for 5 nights week of Labor Day. My 35% off room portion came to about $330. That’s $66 per night making rack rate about $188 per night. Sounds about right. I too am expecting Disney to drop & refund the PH required by the FD promotion. If I can’t use it, refund it!
