September or October?

I'm trying to decide between mid-September and late October. Any thoughts as to which would be better crowd-wise? And how about the weather? Is it still pretty hot in September?

As far as crowds, mid September will be your best bet. I wish I could go then, but the kids are just starting back at school and I believe they need some time to adjust before we pull them out for vacation, lol.

I agree, mid September is a wonderful time to go. All kids have just recently gone back to school, so parents don't want to pull them out for vacation right away. Crowds are really low around that time. Weather will be very warm, but shouldn't be too intolerable. IMHO, I prefer the weather in late October - still nice and warm, but not too humid. That humidity could kill you!

We have been in Sept many times as you can see in my list. It is still hot but not as bad as Summer. Sept is cheaper than October and slower too !!
The crowds are low and it makes the heat more bearable because you don't have to stand in line as much. Many rides are walkons but just so you know....MK is always a little busier than the others but still very nice and you can see everything and not feel rushed.

oh ps....it does RAIN. sometimes just afternoon showers and sometimes lots of rain from tropical storms out in the Atlantic.
It just makes the parks slower, trust me. lol

I went once in September and there was alot of rain showers but they didn't last too long. We did end up buying rain ponchos. I've gone several times to WDW the last week of October and we had beautiful weather. I think it was a little less crowded in September but we enjoy the weather more in October. Patty

I agree mid sept is better crowd wise. Our kids start back at school late August so we wait until the first week of Oct to pull them out for our 9 nights stay, this way they are in school 5 weeks before we pull them out.

We enjoy September. The crowds are very light but it is still hot enough to enjoy the pools and other water rides without worring about getting wet. Also, Sept is "value" season and Oct is "regular" season so rooms will be cheaper in September.

We love September! DD starts school Aug. 20 and we are leaving Sept. 25, same as last year. She was well adjusted by then and it still gets us there for the value season prices at the resorts. There have been some steamy days and you do run the risk of downpours, but they usually don't last too long. We've been lucky in that respect.
