Hey guys, im planning my first trip to Disneyworld and would like to go this September or October. I was wondering if you could give any tips or advice in helping me to choose which month to pick.

I would like to go for 2 weeks but wanted to know the Pros and Cons for both months, Crowds, Weather, Cost etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello and :welcome: to the DIS.

September and October are both great months to visit Disney. We have been twice in September and three times in October.

In my opinion, these are the pros and cons of each month:

September pros - parks are very quiet, considered low season for purposes of accommodation (if staying on-site), weather is still very warm
September cons - still hurricane season, humidity levels can be slightly higher, shorter park hours

October pros - Halloween special events, parks are still reasonably quiet
October cons - weather can be cooler at times (particularly in the evenings), slightly higher attendance around UK school holidays (not massively busy but noticeably busier than early September)

As I said, both months are a great time to visit. If we could choose either, we would choose early/mid September but we do really like the Halloween party at WDW so, if cost is not an issue, early to mid-October would be good too.

I've not been in October, but have been a few times in September, and I really like it!

Pros - quieter parks, perhaps slightly cheaper hotels, hot weather
Cons - there can be afternoon thunderstorms or longer spells of rain, and it's still Hurricane season (though I've only seen one once). With a bit of planning of your days, the afternoon rain won't bother you though. There may not be fireworks or parades on every day in some of the parks, as it's the quiet season, but again, a bit of planning and you'll see everything you want to.

We're having our honeymoon there this September :cool1:

I went in April the last time, which has similar weather patterns to October, and it was lovely. Still hot enough (much hotter than the UK! hot enough to burn if you didn't have sunscreen on), less rain, although there were a couple of evenings I felt I needed a jumper, that was it.

Happy planning!

Hi we usually go in September/October and we love the weather and the quietness of the crowds. It definately has some plus points but it also has some downsides, the weather can sometimes be a bit unpredictable. Saying that though we3 usually go for 3 weeks and have only ever had a few bad days.
