I just happened to check my rate for September and it is down $42.00

My rates went down $15.00. That will pay for the gas! Thanks for posting. I am using my AAA Code 6100253 and a coupon for using my visa card which is NF1256oom. I think the Visa coupon is for one free day. I found this coupon on the www.usa.visa.com website. Go to personal, then discounts, then select National.

I tried using those codes and could only get a compact for total of $218.09 for 8 days. I only need a car with 5 seatbelts, just 2 adults, 3 kids(no car/booster seats needed). I finally talked my husband into flying, which even at a great $49.00 rate each way per person , does cost more then driving, staying overnight once each way. So I am really trying to find the cheapest rate I can find for a compact from the airport, to pick up at 9:30 pm when we arrive. I got a code from the Orlando Magicard, that gets us a compact for the 8 days at a total cost of $176.04( we will need to shuttle to Thrifty to pick it up)(have heard some not so good things about them) before I book that one,I was wondering if anyone had any other codes(for rentals available at the Airport, not a shuttle) they would like to share?

I would have been happy with that. I've got $216 for a midsize (car, not SUV) for 8 days. The SUV was coming out at $283. Both are with the above AAA code and the National coupon. November rates are just so high right now.

I belong to the Emerald Club and I changed my preference to the midsize car so it's now an Emerald Aisle reservation at the $216 which means that when I get to the Emerald Aisle, I can choose from the available cars, and could therefore end up with an SUV anyway. I'm also hoping the rate goes down between now and then though.

Thank you! Snagged a full-size for 9 days for $250. Still not great but it did beat the Dollar ressie I was holding onto. I much prefer National so its a good thing!

Alamo STD SUV is still my lowest rate though.

Just tried not logging in and still no better. I made a mistake though, my ressie is for 9 days. The strange thing is though National is the lowest rate I'm finding. I have found in the past, they have always been the highest.

I tried it both ways myself and it was still the same. The Code is what makes the difference. When you log in as a Emerald Club member, it automatically fills in the EC code, but you can override that. I did, replacing it with the AAA code and the $30 coupon - and got the $216. When I didn't log in and used the same AAA code and the coupon, it still showed $216.

Thankfully, logging in as a EC member, with a midsize as my preference, it booked me as Emerald Aisle instead of Emerald Reserve, so hopefully being TPA instead of MCO, we'll have a nice selection on the EA.

I just got a rate of $245 for EA 9/6 to 9/15. That is only $5 more than my prior best rate (Dollar) and I love the EA service. What a way to start the weekend. Now if only September would get here!

I just lowered my rental by about 40 dollars!!

I used the Contract I.D. 5001856 (waives the underage fee) and Nationalcar.com $30.00 off Weekly Coupon ID: NF1982JDD. I'm so gald I got to save some extra cash!! 30 dollars could be 2 counter service meals!
