September Mini-Van Rental

I have been searching for a cheap mini-van rate for our trip at the end of September. I had booked a mini-van through Thrifty for $195 (total) for seven days. I kept looking because we are traveling with an infant and I really wanted to find a good rate on-site. Today I booked a mini-van through Alamo for $220 (total) using rate code BY, ID# 428448 and coupon code DT9B (American Casino Guide coupon - don't forget to print it out!). I plan to keep on checking, but wanted to post here in case this might be helpful to someone else!

Thanks...I will check it out. My current deal with National is $257.60 so any $ saved would be great. We too want an onsite rental location!

Ok, I just ran your codes and price quoted was $218.02, which is great! Couple questions however before I book. Can you tell me what each code is for and from? When I click on hotdeals, I don't see any of these codes. Where did you get them? Also, where do you get casino guide coupon? And, can this rate change? I see it says estimate and that taxes, surcharges and fees are subject to change, which worries me. Is that the case with every car rental place or just alamo?

You should be able to get all of the info regarding where the codes are from on mousesavers.com. The Casino Guide coupon is there as well. The rate you reserve won't change, however, keep monitoring the rates to see if they go down (which they generally do about 2 weeks prior to your trip). The statement about surcharges, taxes and fees are most likely the same with all rental companies. I have never heard of those changing...

Ok, thanks. I did find these codes on mousesavers. Now, I have more questions. LOL

I found the BY code and the ID#428448 as a 20% off walmart deal.
Then, I found the American Casino coupon. It says its rate code is BY as well, coupon code DT9B, but its ID# is 641394.

My question is this: Are you allowed to stack codes and combine them like this on Alamo? I know National allows it, but if you use the american casino coupon, can you get away with using the walmart id# instead of the coupon id#?

I believe you are able to "stack" the codes, but can't say for sure with Alamo. I have used several codes with National before and never had a problem. I would reserve it to secure the rate and then call Alamo if you're worried they might not honor that rate...
