September Intineraries?? Post them here!

Our next scheduled trip to WDW is Sept 2 - 5, 2005 ~ a nice, albeit short, way to spend Labor Day weekend. Is anyone else planning on being there at that time? :goodvibes :flower:

I am so unsure about what dates to pick. We need 10 days (one week timeshare exchange, and 3 extra days hopefully at the same resort in the same room). We definately want to go in September, but, I really wanted to avoid Labor Day and Nights of Joy. Now with the new break being implemented by some school districts (the 19th through the 23rd), I don't know when to schedule our trip :confused3 . If I have to travel during one of these events which one do you think will draw the lowest crowds?

Thanks fellow Disers!!

Kelly

Hey,
I'm going Sept 16-24 and i just found out about the new school break. But, there are A LOT of pple that do not have break that week. Most pple have their fall breaks in Oct. so I don't think it will make a huge difference. I definately think Labor day and Nights of Joy will be busier!!!!

We (Me, kids ages 8,7,3, and 2, and my parents) are going sept 4-9. I'll drive down to my parents on Friday and we'll leave early (about 4 or 5am) from there on Saturday. Last year we drove straight through in one day so hoping that works again. We plan to do Epcot on Sunday, because that seems best with the larger crowds. UG website says 7 crowd level Sunday, but down to 2 on Monday. Anybody know if this seems right since Monday is Labor day? Not sure what parks we'll do what days after that as I'm not sure where we will be staying and when park hours will be.

OK, this is what I know (so far that is..... )

Monday, 9/5
  • Late am flight from Philly to Orlando--arrive in O-town around 1:30pm
  • Magical Express service to WDW....check into POFQ (hopefully with a King/Water room)
  • settle in, possibly the pool, then dinner (still undecided, but somewhere in DTD)

Tuesday, 9/6 & Wednesday, 9/7

we know one of the days will be MK, the other will be an AK/Typhoon Lagoon day, but we need to wait to see which day has extended hours.

MK day
  • Breakfast @ Poly (Kona Cafe)
  • Lunch @ Columbia's Harbor House
  • Dinner (still to be determined)

or if it's AK/Typhoon day:
  • Breakfast @ POFQ
  • Am Safari @ AK
  • Typhoon Lagoon around 1pm (lunch there)
  • Dinner @ Cape May Cafe Clam Bake

Thursday, 9/8
  • WDCC Figment Sculpture Event Breakfast (location yet to be announced)
  • Pin Celebration Event Registration and RSP pickup
  • Lunch at 50's Prime Time--Afternoon at MGM
  • Dinner at ASSport w/ Pin Trading afterwards

Friday, 9/9 & Saturday 9/10

We're attending Epcot's Happiest Pin Celebration on Earth, so we'll be spending these two days primarily in Epcot.

We would like to eat in Italy, Morocco and Canada while we're there.

Sunday, 9/11
  • Morning in MK
  • Evening in MGM---Fantasmic Dinner package

Monday, 9/12
  • Morning, prepare to leave WDW
  • early evening flight back to Philly

Melissa5583 thanks for you response. We ended up chatting with our exchange company and they couldn't get us in the resort we wanted for the 16th through the 23rd, so it looks like we will be there during Nights of Joy, but we'll just plan those days as down days or Universal days to avoid the crowds. We will be there the 7th - the 17th.

Senecabeach We are also staying at Cypress Pointe. I currently have ressie's for the 10th through the 17th and we will be adding 3 additional days. I'm hoping that this resort is everything I've heard about it from the Dis & tripadvisor! Our exchange was II.

See you there DISER's!!!! (time to start planning and getting ready to make PS's now that we have confirmed plans!!)

We will be there with DD#1 who will be 6.5 and DD#2 who will be 2.5! princess: princess: Anyone else traveling with kids? We homeschool DD#1 so anytime is a good time for the WORLD!!!

I'm in the "bad planners" corner. I realize that I actually *do* have a plan, but this one is so much more loose than last trip that I don't feel like I really have a plan. March was the kamikaze tour plan where we really attacked the parks and pillaged MK to the utmost. So, we can be more relaxed this time since we probably will only duck in briefly to MK proper for a ride or two and spend this trip exploring the other parks in more depth.

We'll be there from Sept 14-19, but are probably only spending 2-3 days in the parks as we were just there in March.

We arrive on the 14th around noon- staying at the Grosvenor. I think we're going to drop our stuff at the hotel and make the half day our MK day. There's only a couple of things we didn't see, like Mickey's Philharmagic, and a couple of things we'd ride again, but we're just going to amble around and do things as the mood strikes us. I'm going to get a PS for Liberty Tree for a late lunch and then we'll either have a light supper at Pecos Bill's or maybe hit Earl of Sandwich on the way back to the hotel.

15th- I'm leaning towards a character breakfast, I haven't had one since I was a kid and this is only DH's second trip to Disney, so I think he might get a kick out of it. Not sure where, maybe at the hotel since they have one and we're already there. This is going to be our MGM day. DH was bummed out last trip that we didn't do the Animation Studio tour (he's an artist and illustrator by trade, so he was psyched for it). For the record, we didn't because he insisted on playing 3 back-to-back games of Millionaire and had friends waiting for us at Epcot, but you can't reason with them sometimes...

I expect to lose him to Millionaire for at least two or three games, so I'm not heavily scheduling this day. He got a taste of the hotseat and now he's a man posessed! I'm planning to make a PS for California Grille for that evening, so at some point I will have to drag him back to the hotel and clean him up...

16th. I expect to wake up and either a) ignore DH's comments that I'm still eligible for the hot seat (if he makes it in) or b) ignore his protests that d**mit, he is going to own the hot seat this time. ;) We'll then head over to AK for at least the morning. We don't do thrill rides, since I have back problems, so I'm not sure we'll be there the whole day. We'll do Flame Tree for lunch and if we feel "done" we'll head over to Epcot. I'm thinking to make a PS for Jiko or Boma, haven't decided.

17th is a casual day- we'll likely be hanging out in DD with local friends and relaxing at the hotel pool with them. Probably will dine with friends at someone's house, so, no need for a PS, and then we'll do PI in the evening.

18th- haven't decided. Our "current" tickets are 3 day expiring hoppers, but we each have a day left on old hoppers, so we may or may not go for another day at that point. I'm thinking we'll save them, since we're in Florida quite often, and probably hit the outlet mall. We'll be doing CityWalk at Universal for dinner- as much as I love the Disney Dining, we're big fans of Margaritaville!

19th- fly home in the afternoon. We'll possibly book a character breakfast if we haven't had one by then, otherwise, I'll probably do some glamourous thing like laundry and lounging by the pool until checkout time.

I'm a slacker. I think once we get to the point of actually being able to make a PS for September, I'll get more with it.

Going September 7-14, GF RPC.

We are all planned - sort of. I have sent my ps requests to concierge, tours are booked, and spa treatments are booked. I am just waiting on all my confirmation numbers. I will post to my planning journal the full itenerary this evening (after 5 on west, 8 on east).

ETA: the link to the planning journal is under my ticker and says "Current Trip Planning Journal"

For now this is what I've got:

Arriving Monday, September 26, leaving Tuesday, October 4.

Mon...arrive around lunchtime, Downtown Disney, lunch at Fulton's, early to bed since we leave home at 4:30am for the airport
Tue...Epcot, lunch at Le Cellier, Illuminations
Wed...Disney Quest
Thu...Animal Kingdom, breakfast at Donald's, MGM for Fantasmic
Fri...Blizzard Beach
Sat...Disney Studios, lunch at Sci-Fi, wagon ride at FW and Hoop De Doo Review tonight
Sun...morning open, Mickey's Halloween Party tonight, dinner at the Plaza Restaurant
Mon...Disney Quest
Tue...leave for the airport around 7:30am

It's just DS and I, and he's made many of the decisions. So keep in mind that this trip is tailored to the wants of a pre-teen, lol--plenty of Disney Quest and a good many days to sleep in.
