September hotel recommendations

The last time we visited orlando was September 99.....just from reading the board I've discovered alot has changed so rather than surf each and every hotel offered, I'd like some recommendations for hotels from recent visitors...I'd like some type of suite with an on site restaurant located between universal and wdw. Our battle plan is to concentrate on universal 2 days, 1 day at MGM and a day at typhoon lagoon...my 3 kids are early to mid teens, so we dont need kidde suites....Our target date is the last week of september...any suggestions would be most appreciated..thanks anna
