OK, from other threads I know there are quite a few of us going in September. Now, how many of you are watching the Weather Channel religiously? I am trying to stay clear of the other forums talking about Gus and Hanna, but I feel drawn to read up (BTW, ppl seem to know there Hurricanes really well).

If only I had a Crystal Ball. Anyone leaving BUF on the 7th or around that time?

BTW, I did not see a post from Ham-Ham in a while. Hope he is enjoying his vacation.

We leave on the 10th. It is hard to stay away from those threads about possible Hurricanes. I sure hope it settles down but I should have known that when I booked for Sept. Murphy's law would go into effect......

We leave on the 6th from Buffalo. I too, keep checking weather updates and reading posts in other forums.

It's hard not to worry about it, but the trip is booked, we're definitely not cancelling, so we'll just have to roll with the punches and hope for the best.

All I truly hope for is that the plane can safely (and hopefully timely) arrive to its destination and back. We can still have a great time in the rain!

I was toying with the idea of Travel Insurance, but then did not pursue it. But from what I understand, Disney would allow you to cancel if the Hurricane hits MCO. Add that to SWA's ease of changing flights, we should be good, right???

That's how I feel too.....I can easily change SW flights and Disney has hurricane policies if it gets really bad and I want to postpone the trip.
Now everyone have positive SUNNY thoughts. The last few days in Ontario have been more Fall like....yesterday was sooo dismal! Where did summer go??

Hi My 2 princesses - Ham Ham's wife here. Ham Ham is in Montreal moving his mother to Guelph.

We had a great vacation although we were there for Tropical Storm Fay and had rain, rain, and more rain!!!!!!!!!

I think Ham Ham might be posting a trip report when he is back home.

We leave on Monday and I am SOOOO nervous. My husband keeps on asking me WHY did I plan this during Hurricane season??!! What was I thinking:sad1: I feel so bad Of course after WDW we are going to go over to my parent's condo which of course is on the Gulf :scared: As if travelling with a young toddler and a preschooler who is now sick with what I hope is only a 24 hour virus isn't nerve racking enough, this is on top of it. Of well, when it rains, it pours (hopefully not literally ;) ) Have a wonderful trip everyone!

Awww...hope the wee one feels better soon. Stay safe and I hope you enjoy your vacation, whatever the weather might be.

I'm not worried. I was there in 1999, when the parks closed for the first time because of a hurricane. Disney did an excellent job of keeping everyone safe and informed about the weather.

I leave on the 6th and I'm not too concerned. The weather can change so much during the next week that it isn't worth getting worked up over it. I'll keep a closer eye on it as my flight dates approaches.

Ugh, we leave on the 5th and I'm worried about Hanna. Just last week, it looked like Hanna was not going to make landfall and fizzle somewhere off the east coast of the States but now...it's got an entirely different path.

We have to hope that Hanna's erratic behaviour (as the weather.com site calls it) will have it changing course again.

Bleh...

:sad2:

Try this website. It has great info on hurricane's and what is going on, weather reports etc. Looks like Florida might not get hit by Hanna. Let's pray.

We just got back today and timed it nicely between Faye and Gustav/Hannah. The TV stations are obsessed with 24 hour coverage on these storms (and the election!). However, they were today predicting that Hannah would probably not amount to much (hopefully!) and was probably going to turn more northeastward. I was in Orlando during Hurricane Jeanne a few years back and of course it's a big concern for all in its path, and we hunkered down in hotel room for one day, but after the storm passed, the weather was beautiful. It sure is a lot cheaper to travel to Florida/Caribbean during Sept-Nov, but of course it's cheaper due to the risk we all take to travel during Hurricane season!

we leave on September 15th, looking forward to it. We were also down there in 1999, and it was not bad at all....we have had worse storms in Ontario LOL.

I'm leaving the 13th. Fingers crossed for no hurricanes, tropical storms, tropical depressions or any severe weather during my trip. I've made a pack with Mother Nature; I'll take the heat and humidity, just don't have any severe rain/wind while I'm there. :)

My DH and I just want to get to MCO! We have bought new shoes (the hiker/sandals that are meant for river hikes or on boat decks) and good ponchos and so even if it rains all week, we are prepared. The only thing we are hoping for is the airline will fly us there on the 12th! We booked the day off before we leave so if necessary, we will try and leave either Wednesday night or Thursday if it looks like flights may be delayed or cancelled on the Friday.

I try not to worry too much about it ... I can't change the weather but it doesn't stop me from checking Ike's progress every couple of hours  Just get me there!!!

I hope that all in Gustav's and Hanna's path are keeping safe and sound!

We leave next Wed morning (going to Buffalo the night before) so hopefully we are ok to get there.

We will be there September 19-28. Hopefully, all the hurricanes will be far away. :worship:
